After he was already represented on our last compilation and is also involved in some current remix projects with us, we are particularly pleased to be able to present the new EP by @sydkasd on our label today, which has the catchy title "Snakes and Ladders".

The saying Snakes and Ladders refers to situations in which people or events appear to go forward and backward, seemingly at random. Everyone can relate to this feeling and knows that life can sometimes feel like an endless loop of recurring experiences. It is all the more important to switch off your head from time to time and simply go with the flow of the moment.

Sydka's EP provides the perfect soundtrack for this vibe. The two originals, which come with his unmistakably groovy and detailed sound, are rounded off by three diverse remixes by @glenn_shaw, @flave-uc and @kon-faber, which all give the original a unique twist.

We are very happy that the EP has finally seen the light of day and want to thank all the artists involved for their great work, as well as Haunted Water for the smooth mastering and Kilian Van de Water for the harmonious artwork.

The human blink is controlled by the subconscious. The reflexive closing movement of the eyelids clean and protect the eyes. When we blink, the visual centre in the brain is regulated. Therefore, we do not consciously perceive this whole process and the briefly reduced incidence of light. On average, this procedure is conducted 10-15 times per minute. In moments of great excitement, joy or concentration, we can blink significantly less often. Due to the excessive focus, the blinking becomes a consciously controlled process for a certain amount time. The first Joe Carl EP on KataHaifisch contains two tracks. Both are well suited for a club setting. Strong basses create a dancing mood and hypnotic leads a dreamy atmosphere. In both songs you can hear the unique style of Joe Carl. The new LOKD chapter was conceived by our dear friend @temple-tears, all the way from Paris, France. 

This whole EP is loaded with a distinctive flavour, something we have been missing in the scene lately. Expressing an absolute and characteristic focus on energetic progression around each original composition. 

LOKD009 is also welcoming our friends from @kermesselive with their remix of “Matilde”, which transforms the original into their own spectrum of what could be defined as truly organic sound. The second remix is by our very own @arutani, who takes a step back on suggesting a deeper and melodic approach in his re-interpretation for the track “Quentin”. 

We are proud to welcome Grégori into our little family, and to release the very first EP in his downtempo career.

LOKD010 has arrived, this time by one of our very own label heads, and good friend, AVEM. Representing our hometown Basel over the last years, this time Boris is going all the way back to the 80’s. Having deep in his roots the disco days, mainly because of family business (his father in a concert in 1985 is our artwork for this EP), he has created his own new interpretation influenced by the golden era.

Our new Disco Days EP is accompanied with remixes from our dear friends @yolanda-frei, and Oberst & Buchner. Which have been specially selected to bring their well known twist that has made them stand out in our scene for a long time. 

Even though it took some time, we are very happy to finally release his first EP in his very own home, LOKD.
