She went to Columbia, SC and performed at “Who Got Next.” Mi$$ Metra received positive reviews from the A&R’s from Shady/Aftermath, Def Jam Records, Koch Records and Bad Boy South. She has been an NCUMA nominee for “Best Female Rapper of the Year”.Miss Metra Was The First Female Rap Artist To Ever be Heard On Be On Air Internet Radio In Chicago illions She performed at Black Storm’s networking party. She has done a mixtape with Plies’ official DJ, Suga D. Also DJ Krystle, It is called “Boss Chicks R Us”. She has also been on a mixtape with DJ Soulless, and the Usual Suspects. She did 2 mixtapes with “Coast 2 Coast DJ”’s DJ Speak Easy . They were called “Radio 12” “Radio 13” And The Latest Block Make Over. She appeared in a Local group Music Video. Most recently, she opened up for Def Jam recording artist Lil’ Ru and “Disturbing Tha Peace” recording artists TK and Cash. Miss Metra Has Also The First Female to do a Drop For 98.1 That is in rotation. She Just Released Her First Album The Come Up Oct 27 2009 And now Is Digital World Wide. BIO:DeMetra Hawkins AKA Miss Metra was born on January 13 1990 In Greenville South Carolina her grandmother who is a Blues Singer and has traveled around the road with her own brand and also a memeber of Clearnce Carter label,Her Grandmother instilled in her a great love for music. Miss Metra first love was basketball, she was serious about making it into a career until one day in 1996 is when she first started rapping with her older cousin. The artist that Influenced Miss Metra was Da Brat Young Jeezy 50 cent & T.I When they notice How amazing she was at such a young age they felt that she could be something serious on the mic. Not Only she was good at rapping she also wrote her own songs which was amazing to alot of people. Every Since then  Miss Metra has been making her way inside the rap game. Miss Metra Finally hit High school she joined up with a school mate Dontavious Landson aka Yung Zues. He became a producer for Miss Metra and became serious about the Music as well. The First Song Miss Metra Every recorded Was Called Ridin 2 Da beat which is on her first album "The Come Up". Once people from her high school heard what she had to deliver they knew Miss Metra would blow up in a matter of time. After Miss Metra Finish Recording Her first album She started selling her Music at School, Even Teachers became Fans Of Miss Metra and started to support her career. When she performed at her School talent show  Miss Metra became a Big Factor at RiverSide High School. In 2009 Miss Metra Hooked Up with her Manager Frank Da Zelek he quickly started to invest into Miss Metra and Putting her in the studio to work on some new Singles.She had then added her music to myspace and became very popular with a strong internet buzz.Miss Metra Biggest Single On the internet and the streets was "I GO SO HARD" DJs started to contact her Manager so they could spin her Song in the local clubs In SC. A few other DJs out side of SC got a hold of some Of Miss Metra's Music and started Playing it in Clubs and on their Radio Shows. Alot of people wanted Miss Metra to Join their Groups and indie label offered her a deals. She never signed with any of the label that sent her offers, she kept pushing for something bigger. In 2009 Miss Metra was a Nominee for The first time For "Best Female Rap Artist" Miss Metra was The first female Artist to get Nominated In North Carolina. In 2010 Miss Metra won the award For Best Single("I GO SO HARD")@ the Metro City Magazine awards. Since Then Miss Metra Has been Making a name for her self and Looking to become a Major Artist In the Game.
