Sierra Leonean artist and producer Lamin Fofana – who released an excellent album on Shifted’s Avian label late last year – turns in a softly energising mix for our Sunday series.

Bookended by tracks from Sweden's Andreas Tilliander under his Mokira alias and experimental duo Autechre, and featuring artists such as Miles Davis, Alto Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto, the hour-long mix is filled with buzzing synths, fluttering piano and glitchy ambient that comforts and intrigues.

Sunday Mix: Lamin Fofana

This mix from Glasgow's mainstay, Mag, was recorded at the end of 2020 and there really isn't any good reason for it not seeing the light of day earlier than this. It somehow survived multiple hard drive deaths and wandered in the cloud for way too long before resurfacing recently and finally ending it's journey as the Forecast it was always supposed to be. 

Hailing from London, adopted by Puddle Country and currently galivanting around South America, Mag has pieced together over an hour's worth of sonics that have stood the test of time, a demand unfairly put upon them by the scatter-brained "organisational" capacity of one member of 12th Isle in particular. Said member and Mag have done a number of shows together on Clyde Built throughout the years and are worth checking out, if just to appreciate the unassailable power of friendship in the face of attention deficit issues.
