Lumieux steps up for the second release of the newfound Miden imprint.

The Italian label established their classy aesthetic of stripped back, psychedelic minimal with a debut from the French wizard Vadim Oslov. Drawn to the more tripped-out corners of club music, Miden invites the Romanian workhorse Lumieux to continue a fine streak of form.

Sharing a desire for refined club tracks produced to pristine, audiophile quality, the powerhouse producer pumps out longer form, experimental compositions common with much of his fellow Sunrise roster. Sounds carry shades of classical with subtle piano loops and dissonant chords bellowing beneath lean, crafty rhythms. It's the kind of freeform, often modular-led jams common with the likes of Ricardo Villalobos and Rhadoo's expressions in the genre. Haven't been released in over a year and a half, London-based Bread & Butter returns to the table serving some more minimal appetizers. BR004 comes yet again in the form of a VA compilation, this time featuring four more on the rise and talented Romanian favourites. To open the dance is "Aguamenti" by microhouse specialist Herck, starts with his typical rumbling modular madness; enveloping the listener is a swathe of an unusual sensual vocal and ever-switched slaps of melodic noise work from the off. Some delicate cowbells join the scene, and the hypnotic dimension increases, arousing our curiosity.

Romanian producer @Pjktor presents “Acid Space EP” for Lokomotiv’s second release LKMV002.

“Acid Space” imagines an interstellar alignment, complete with a driving bassline to keep you subdued on the dancefloor. Of a similar ethos, “French Kiss” forms a stylised, percussive rhythm and groove, bonded harmoniously by a soft pad reminiscent of other worlds.

Fellow Romanian @Subleee offers his own elegant rendition of “French Kiss”, capturing the forceful drive of the original, while augmenting a 3-dimensional beauty for the B side. The remix is characterised by an emphatic percussive ensemble and features elements of Sublee’s signature synchronisations. 

The release has received early support from Cristi Cons, Barac, Arapu and Gescu, circulating prominent dancefloors and continuing the wave of hype in Romania and around the world.
