SAMULI KEMPPI played live twice at Suicide Circus, and since his energetic sound really fit well with our club, we started talking to each other about a release on our DARK SERIES imprint.
So here we go now, after releases on labels such as Prologue, Mote Evolver and Perc Trax, SAMULI KEMPPI now is ready to rock your boat with three tracks on our label, which define a very particular sound of their own.
LAST DAY ON EARTH brings Samuli’s apocalyptic vision to the dancefloors. Dark hisses, well scaped spaces and a hookline with the pull of a spacecraft make up for a track that with no doubt will be one of the techno anthems of the next months. A killer of a track!
On the B-side SPACING has similar sound aesthetics as Last Day On Earth, but comes along more playful whereas CALLING approaches the apocalyptic theme from a very different angle. Bleepy synths over a banging beat let you think of laser shots in the dark, haunting and scary.

biography:
Richard West aka Mr.C was born in London in the late 60's. He started MCing in the London clubs aged only 16 & soon earned a reputation as a fast talking vivacious rapper working with LWR radio's Ron Tom, Jasper the Vinyl Junkie & Jazzy M. Mr.C then hooked up with Colin Faver & Evil Eddie Richards to became resident rapper at the legendary Camden Palace going on to MC for Colin Faver on the then illegal pirate radi station Kiss FM. Mr.C went into the studio to record his 1st house track with Eddie Richards as Myster-E which was released in August 1987. This inspired Mr.C to become a DJ to learn more about his beloved House & Techno music so in late '87 Richard took to the decks. Mr.C has since organized, promoted & been resident DJ at: Fantasy ('88), Base (Dungeons '89), Release (91), Harmony (92), Drop (93), Cyclone (94), Vapourspace (94 & 95), Flavour (The End 95 & 96), Subterrain (The End 95 - 2002), Superfreq (Worldwide 2002 - Present) & Super Disco Freq (LA 2010 - present).

In December 1995 Mr.C opened the legendary night club The End in London with Partner Layo Paskin & then AKA bar 3 years later, which celebrated its 13th anniversary in December 2008.
Sadly The End & AKA closed its doors for good on January 24th 2009. 1 Chapter closes & another begins.

Mr.C is founder & owner of Plink Plonk records, cofounder of End Recordings & cofounder & owner of the Superfreq label. Mr.C has recorded under the names, Myster-E, Unity 2, Nu Jacks, Bass Bureau, The Shamen, Mantrac, Somnambulist, Animus Amour, Killer Loop, Mr.C & Tom Parris, Mr.C & 16B & the Sycophant Slags.
Mr.C is best known as front man of the pop group The Shamen with whom he notched up a string of top 10 hits including Move Any Mountain & the UK number 1 smash hit Ebeneezer Goode. The Shamen also won a highly coveted Ivor Novelo for Songwriters of the year UK in 1992. Richard's currently recording solo as Mr.C & is also doing collaborations as the Sycophant Slags with Francis Harris aka Adultnapper, as the Indigo Kidz with Affie Yusuf, with [a]pendics.shuffle & with Omid 16b & has recent releases on Poker Flat, Wagon Repair Records, Get Physical Records & Adjunct Audio.
This year alone Mr.C has released his long awaited Mr.C album Smell The Coffee, 3 solo singles & 2 Indigo Kidz releases on Superfreq, his Hechizo track for Get Physical as well as remixes for Mikael Stavöstrand & David Scuba for Riff Raff & Joint Custody, Xo Chic & House of 909 all on Superfreq. With a stream of productions still to come out over the coming months, Mr.C is well a truly back & creating shockwaves with his production output.

Mr.C runs & promotes Superfreq events, which will celebrate being 12 years old in March 2014 & ran monthly at Mr.C's club The End until it closed down in January 2009. Superfreq functions almost monthly in London, a bi-annual residency at the legendary nightclub Fabric & the rest of the time hopping around London’s warehouse venues. Superfreq also does quarterly events at Hollywood’s hottest venue Sound in Los Angeles & monthly events in Calais France, as well as holding down a quarterly residencies at Tree House in Miami & Output in Brooklyn & hosting bi-annual residencies at La Santanera in Playa Del Carmen, various venues in Chicago & Junk Club in Southampton UK. This is on top annual events in Russia, Ibiza, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Dallas, Denver & San Francisco & one of events the world over.
Superfreq has accomplished 7 successful seasons in Ibiza, 3 at Club Underground, 2 at DC10, 1 season at Blu & 3 events at Aura & regularly hosts events at BPM & WMC & will be hosting events in 2014 at BPM, WMC, DEMF, Sonar, Burning Man & ADE.

It's fair to say that Vince Watson is a true unsung hero of house and techno. The Glasgow born producer and DJ has been making genre-defining and genre-bending records for almost 20 years, with highly celebrated releases on labels such as Planet E, Tresor, Delsin, Ibadan and his own Bio Music.

Now living in Amsterdam, Planet Funk is Vince's first outing on Poker Flat. The lead track is a confident slice of twisted machine funk, highly charged yet otherworldly in atmosphere - as the title suggests.

Luna City Express' Marco Resmann takes his remix into deeper territories, yet maintains the crisp, full production vales of the original nicely.

Watson's control over tension and dynamics is exceptional, and he exhibits this again on 'Paradise' - an elegant tech house bomb that interweaves multiple complex elements yet remains singularly affecting.

Electric Indigo, DJ, composer, musician, has performed in 36 countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Her name stands for the intelligent and distinguished interpretation of techno and electronic music. Her dj sets are characterized by a wide variety with a clarity of vision, and a depth that only comes from a deep understanding of the music and the art of the DJ. As a composer and musician, she emphasizes the spatial-temporal placement of subtly textured sounds. She received the "outstanding artist award Musik 2012" in the field of electronic music and computer music and the national grant for composition 2013 from the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture.

Currently, Electric Indigo works on her first solo album.

Electric Indigo started her DJ career in Vienna 1989 and lived in Berlin for three years [1993-1996] to work at the legendary Hard Wax record store. In those years, she also began to produce her own music, first releases came out in 1993. In 1998, Electric Indigo founded female:pressure an international database and network for female DJs, producers, and visual artists in the fields of electronic music that was awarded with an honorary mention atPrix Ars Electronica 2009. In 2002, she discovered her passion for experimental music and started to play live. Meanwhile, she gives concerts in the realms of avant-garde as well as club music. Institutions like the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, the University of Fine Arts Vienna, and the University of Applied Arts Vienna commonly invite Electric Indigo as a guest lecturer. 2013 she wrote the monthly column "bonustrack" for an.schläge magazine.

Important works in recent years comprise compositions like "Structuring Contours" - premiere at Klangspuren Festival 2011, her 5 channel compositions "RRHONFEER-RRHEFNEOR" for Moozak Festival 2012, and "Chiffres" - premiere at e_may / Wien Modern 2012, as well as her 8 channel pieces for the radical opera "ABSTRIAL" and "something wicked" for hoergeREDE together with author Olga Flor 2013.

Argentinian based DJ/Producer OSWLD joins Soma in 2014 and debuts Tragicaller under his new alias 04LM. With some storming releases under his belt on the fantastic Non Series, 04LM brings his more melodic & haunting sound to the Soma ranks. One of the UK’s biggest Techno exports and Blueprint Records label head, James Ruskin, joins 04LM for a bone crunching remix.

Title track Tragicaller growls in with dark, chugging percussion and one mean bass line. Slowly and surely the tracks evolves, eerie pads float atop brash hi hats and shakers and well defined sequences keep the track flowing, heavy atmospheres in the background rise higher keeping the temperature of this on high!

James Ruskin weighs in with his version of M Place. Hard hitting from the get go. A mighty kick drums bangs across the spectrum as 04LM’s main melody pulses in the background. Chopped up percussion slices through giving this track a fantastic groove. James takes his remix into heavier territories as an almighty bass binge rockets through the heart of his version.

The original version of 04LM’s M Place closes the EP. Hollowed out percussion seals a perfectly haunting melody that sweeps in balanced by slightly distorted atmospheres.

04LM creates a distinct sound with his originals while Techno pioneer Ruskin jacks up proceedings nicely.

ALEXANDER KOWALSKI is someone you should know. Not only is he a resident artist at our club, but with uncountable EPs and several albums on Heiko Laux’ label Kanzleramt and others, he has contributed more to electronic music than many others. To have a separate platform for the darker and harder productions of his, he created the alias D_FUNC. a while ago.
When he approached us with the tracks that are now on the record in hand, we immediately fell in love with the Mills-like energy of them. Perfect drum programming, driving synth lines - two perfect tools for any proper techno set.

The Dirt Mix of Revalism which is included in the digital release package puts the original in a more modern jacket with its stompy beat - another proof of how well Alexander knows what the djs need to please their crowd.

Let the dancefloors burn!

MIKE WALL has become a regular guest at the our club, the Suicide Circus, and this is for a reason. His sets are banging, and so are his productions.

When Rain Falls on A1 is a techno monster with a DAF-influenced bassline ripping it. The Black Chamber on A2 comes along as a dark and spooky tune with lots of playful sounds in it.

On the B-side The Black Chamber is being turned into a superfunctional and effective dancefloor weapon by SAMUEL L. SESSION in his remix.

Our mate and well established producer FRANK MARTINIQ delivers “The Renegade Cir- cus”, a smooth dub bomb that will work on the floors at any time of the night, with its smooth chords and gentle beat programming it will make people dance whether you open the night with it or play it peaktime to a screaming crowd. FRANKLIN DE COSTA’s “Birdy” stands in clear contrast to this. With its particularly raw sound design and its weird birdy melody this track sounds like the favourite song of a dusty machine taken from some still unwritten child book.
MIKE VAMP’s “Licence to Thrill” rounds up this EP up with its pumping disco flavour, com- patible with any throbbing floor.

SCR DARK SERIES is the new label of SCR that’s concentrating on dark techno.
Number 001 comes from no less than long time techno hero ALEXANDER KOWALSKI
who delivered an amazing detroit techno floor burner driven by deep chords and subtle melodies.

For their remix CASSEGRAIN dubbed the track out and transformed it into a pulsating, reverberating dub techno piece that’s slowly morphing into more and more deepness.
D_FUNC stripped down the original and gave it a bit more of a push with a heavy bassline and a strong string melody, Old school basement techno style!

Few people stand for a real underground approach to techno like ADAM X does. For over 20 years he has been right in the center of the scene. Before moving to Berlin he ran the Sonic Groove record shop in NYC for 15 years. The Sonic Groove label also owned by Adam is still a dominating force in the scene and has released music of legends like Abe Duque, Blake Baxter, Frankie Bones, Kevin Saunderson and many more. With djing, producing music Adam in recent years has received a lot of support from people like Chris Liebing and many others for his productions as ADAM X as well as for his aliases TRAVERSABLE WORMHOLE, ADMX-71.

Adam’s sound is dark and heavily influenced by his passion for industrial and old school EBM music. With COERCIVE PERSUASION on the A-side he combines these influences with a functionality that can only derive from his extensive touring as a dj and live act. It is a dark anthem that will destroy all real techno floors. No doubt. The B-side DEPROGRAMMING SEQUENCE comes along with driving bells that give the stomping beat of the track a little uplift and therewith balances out the heavy dark side of the EP.

[MKLTD005] Hackler & Kuch - Gayver (Original Mix)

BILL YOUNGMAN has been around for almost 20 years with releases on legendary labels like Serotonin, Scandinavia and Tresor.
He crossed many styles from melodic electro to really, really harsh techno, but recently he seems to have found his very own personal style. The music he released on Killekill in the last two years show a very singular apporach to techno and electro. percussive, deep, melodic, toolish - all at the same time.
For our label he gave us MARMOR, a masterpiece of dub techno, that could well derive directly from the Basic Channel nest: An endless groove of bassheavy beats and only ru- dimentary melodic elements that get lost in finely laid delay layers. DASHA RUSH made a more stompy remix of it which manages to keep the dubby and melancholic atmosphere of the original hough.
The last track of the EP, DISSOLUTION is a classical Youngman-track one could say: percus- sive, thriving, finely mixed and atmospheric.
A lovely record!

Located in the heart of berlin at Warschauer Straße in Friedrichshain, Lokschuppen is well known for its friendly and diverse atmosphere.
We value diversity and inclusion, actively promoting a respectful and supportive community. With a diverse program featuring live music, DJ sets, performances and art installations, we aim to create a space for creative minds from around the world. Also known as Suicide Club Berlin in the past, the club opened its doors in 1994, becoming a cornerstone of Berlin‘s techno scene. Named after the influential band „Suicide,“ it hosted DJs like DJ Hell and Ellen Allien. Despite closure in 1999 due to gentrification,
it found new homes, notably at RAW-Gelände in 2009, where it continues to flourish. Since 2024 the club is rebranded as Lokschuppen Berlin.
The club is known for hosting various local collectives that form the club‘s unique character and diverse crowd. From Formula 90 to Pfandidos, Devoted, and Gabber Industries Berlin, these collectives infuse our venue with a variety of genres, ranging from groove to trance, hardtechno, hardcore, and house. we welcomed many well known techno legends such as DJ Rush and Ellen Allien, but also raising stars like Brutalismus3000, MCR-T, Klangkünstler and many more. Since 2018, Chantal‘s House of Shame has found a new home at Lokschuppen, well known for its legendary queer parties featuring (drag)-performances and a sex-positive atmosphere.
