Lomidze and Judzhen recorded a joint three-track "6th Floor". 

On August 11, 2022, Lomidze & Judzhen present their first joint release "6th Floor". The release contains three deep mood tracks, and its digital version now available on Bandcamp.

The first collaboration of two creators took place in 2014: at that time Judzhen recorded a track "Desert Island", which was remixed by Lomidze and released under his label “Datenbits”. In fact, the idea to collaborate, came to them at the Covid lockdowns time. 

“I remember cold winter, it was -20°C outside, the time was dark, Rahbarber was closed, and I craved for making a warm, summer Muse, which comes in handy now,” says Judzhen. “It was a breath of fresh air for me, as a producer. I do love all the tracks we have recorded.” 

“I have always been for experiments, for making music in collaboration with someone. For me, the process itself is crucial, and it turned out to be extremely entertaining!” - Lomidze states. — “Judzhen was responsible for the beats and structure, and I added my typical melancholic melodies. As a result we have beautiful, vintage tracks.” 

Each of the artists has their own clear vision, and in the end they managed to combine different and independent ideas and find a balance. They worked on the tracks in Lomidze’s studio on the sixth floor - this is how the name of the EP appeared. In total, four or five tracks were recorded, but the final version of the edition will include three: "Light Go Out", "Mood Swing" and the jungle "Tunnel". 

“If you listen to the latest albums of many house producers, you will definitely hear some kind of drum and bass or even hip-hop track at the end of them,” the duo says. — “And we wanted our release to be as diverse as possible, not to make listeners bored. We also tried to make the tracks just right in length, not too long and not too short.” 

Tracks were recorded on hardware: Korg Wavestation, Elektron Digitakt and Analog Four, Prophet and vintage Mopho. Since both wanted to get the most vintage sound possible, the mastering was done at the MonoMono Studio, where the tracks were processed on vintage musical instruments. 

The "6th Floor" EP will first be released digitally via Bandcamp. And the duo plans to it on physical media: "If the music causes a resonance, in the future we are thinking of making an album." On the vinyl version, Lomidze and Judzhen hope to release alternate versions created during the recording as well as some remixes.

The ones we decided to move here we always get surprised about dj's that one can see at the most filthy and infamous venues, being not strcktly necessary to go to Panorama Bar to see a nice set.

We introduce you this month to EXOTIKA, good friend and great selector. Joan Bernat the guy behind the name, is one of those obsessed diggers that are always in the search of the perfect beat and the warmest vibe. Balearic, downtempo, protohouse and everything in between is the leitmotif of the catalonian dj.

Member of the amazing collective "Ceremony", one of the hottest underground parties in Berlin, along with Nirel Nica, Llupe and Rafa (who already signed an MM Cast last year)

Slip into my take on minimal.
It’s mostly modern house music, but people tell me it’s minimal techno too. I’ve called it astral:house and sideways house. It’s deep euphoric dance music, psychedelic, soul-stirring and fun. It’s lush minimal for the dance floor.  

Feel where I’m at with the opening record, then space out with an hour of vibration:appreciation, after which I mix some favourite new minimal records with ultra-special digital waves.  I remember moving to wav format way after most of my dj friends, and feeling old fashioned as I carted my vinyl to our Saturday night residency at Elsewhere Bar on the Gold Coast in the 2000s. Now mixing vinyl feels like coming home, as I don’t have to peer at a screen or get my head around a computer in order to make the mix happen.  Most of my online mixes are spontaneous curations made on Traktor using timecode vinyl & aiff files, so turntables have always been my preference. Living in Australia, shipping costs so much, so obtaining new records is a luxury indeed, especially when you have a family’s needs to consider; it feels so good though, and I love them. We live in order to experiment with crafts, and right now, this is where I am and what I do. 

The last track is a Jules David remix of a Timmus piece they called ‘Deflection Perception’. For a long while I was the only one who had it, as time flew by and the fellas kept creating new masterpieces. I dropped it at Revolver eight years ago and sparks flew.  Both Jules and Timmus have released for Motion:Theory:Music, Ben Abrahams, Jules and my electronic music label.  We’ve made parties and held residencies showcasing underground sound for over 20 years, so this label is a manifestation of that energy and we have more pieces from Jules forthcoming, all remixed by world class international artists.  The vibe in this unique piece of music is a glimpse into Jules’ soul, a beautiful peek indeed. The woman sampled speaks in an Australian accent, and talks of “coming home”. She says: ”the euphoria grew the further I walked…”
