DA is the second part of my Hamburg-Trilogy using the old street names of the ruined old Hamburg town as track titles. Fire, the Hamburg Senat and the World War 2 destroyed the former face of this city. I’ve found a website with old photos which were taken just before the areas were broken down, and I had the cringe vision of dancing people in their historical clothes on techno vibes in all the streets as a rebellion against their expulsion. HIER means Hamburg-Neustadt where I live, DORT describes the burnt Altstadt, and DA is the northern Part of the Neustadt. Lets dance in the streets on the graves of arsonists, warmongers and real estate sharks!

Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going? Besides being the name of a famous Gauguin painting, these are questions that have most probably been valid for any given time period. In ancient Greece, Socrates believed that the purpose of the human mind is to explore the nature of virtue in order to perfect the soul and build a life based on ethical knowledge. Epicurus thought, meanwhile, that the goal of living is to receive pleasure, not sensory though, but through getting rid of physical pain, emotional restlessness, suffering and fear of death. Medieval Europe and India, despite cultural differences, had the same understanding of the meaning of life – worship of ancestors, adherence to common religious and mythical ideals, and the importance of ascribed status. Schopenhauer defined a person’s life as the product of a metaphysical will: people think they act on their own, but are in reality driven by someone else’s will. Danish philosopher Kierkegaard argued that life is full of absurdity and that humans must create their own values in an indifferent world. Pragmatic philosophers believe that instead of searching for the truth about life, people should seek a useful understanding of life. And so on and so forth. Natural disasters, epidemics, wars, the rich and the poor will come and go, but questions about the meaning of life and those who seek answers for them have always been and will forever be there. The text turned out this way perhaps because when listening to @oh_why’s music, you want to either ask yourself Gauguin’s questions or be the one who finds the answers.

Since we all coexist on this planet — some closer to, some farther away from each other — we know how you have been feeling this past year.
Mood swings happen on a daily basis. Uncertainty is sitting deeply in all of us. What is happening? Where will this lead? Is there an end in sight?

We're no psychics either, but in times like these something everyone should do is to keep the spirits up for themselves and those around them.
And so we set out and forged something, that's rather different from our usual output, but yet wholesome and our equivalent of a bag of warm and loving hugs. Without the fear of getting infected with some kind of virus of course.

A new story in our ever growing book of slowness is coming to fruition and now is the time to present its first chapter.
