Disco Sorella

Second edition of my special “Fingerman ♥'s” DJ mixes showcasing on individual artists, edits and record labels. This one is a homage to Greg Wilson, one of the main reasons for myself getting back into disco again over 10 years ago and inspiring me to take up editing and producing in the first place. Here’s a selection of IMO his finest tracks and edits working alongside Derek Kaye, Peza, Henry Greenwood and his son Che that span the genres of funk, disco, acid house and nu-disco. Enjoy!

Slow Mo Lounge's 5th and final global collaboration in the international mixtape series for 2024 is with none other than Discoholics Anonymous founder, DJ, and producer, Discoholic Ken, all the way from Denmark. 

Chart toppers, Danish label, Discoholics Anonymous,  is a Nu Disco and Disco Edits staple. Established in 2020 with an intimate focus on Disco Edits, Discoholics Anonymous has not only dominated global charts in the category but also produced some of the most groundbreaking artists in the genre, working with the likes of Trotskij Sound, Belohnungszentrum, Ken@Work, Lup Ino, DiCE_NZ, DJ Laurel, Dee-Bunk,  Ben Jamin, FF Edits, Secret Soul Society, Ferdinand Debeaufort, and Monsieur Van Pratt.

Edition 016 see's us bring forth Belfast based, Brighton native, Hot Digits label boss and long time inspiration to us - Fingerman.

Gregg Holmes aka Fingerman has been one of the most dedicated re-edit masters to our knowledge. Since our inception as a little gathering in the upstairs of Shoreditch boozer 8 years ago, we have avidly collected his reworks, re-edits and more recently his newer original productions on his label.  Without a shadow of a doubt, he had a profound effect on us at the beginning of our foray into playing Disco - introducing us to a barrage of old music, previously unknown to us, all touched by his masterful style creating extensions and more DJ friendly versions of some classic tracks and lesser known rarities which are either hard to get hold of, or lets face it, just a pain in the arse to mix due to live drum and percussive elements on the original recordings.

His work is regularly praised for by two of the most influential figures within the edit scene - Dimitri From Paris & Greg Wilson (who has consecutively charted Fingerman edits on his Credit To The Edit blog for the past 5 years - and even released a few on his A&R edits imprint)

Over the years, we've kept an attentive ear to Gregg's sounds and have witnessed the development from his early days up until the present, its been a great process to listen to and also watch reactions to his material on the dancefloor too, having witnessed the man himself play on the same stage at us at Locomotive Disco in London and also for his mammoth annual street party in Brighton for Pride Festival with the Get Down Edits guys & Jay Ru (check his Soundcloud for the extended recordings of these events)
