The 10,000 strong party drew together DJs, fans, listeners, singers, live acts and MCs together to showcase every shade and style encompassing a 174 heartbeat. As the Finsbury Park fun continues and round two promising even bigger stage takeovers and a myriad of artist weaponry, we present an equally bursting drum & bass double disc, the ‘Hospitality In The Park 2017’ LP.

In the same vein as our all-day summer special, this huge 70 track mash-up spans across a full 360’ perspective of the genre; representing the established, up and coming, soulful, obscure, liquid, innovative, dark, techy, neuro, jungle style and everything in between.

Included are over 25 brand new exclusives from reputable drum & bass titans Danny Byrd, S.P.Y, Makoto and Keeno, there are VIPs from Metrik and Nu:Logic, remixes from Hugh Hardie, Total science, Camo & Krooked and Calibre, and a ‘Bullet Proof’ banger from Krakota.

Across two mixed CDs we’ve drawn for this year’s surefire summer weapons with Fred V & Grafix, The Prototypes, 1991, High Contrast, The Upbeats, Breakage in the mix. With this year’s Incubator stage pulling artists that are rising through the ranks, up and comers’ Whiney, Unglued, GLXY and Kyrist bring exciting new offerings to the compilation.

Both fans and artists came together from all over the globe last year and we expect no less in 2017. After a two year hiatus, Bristol-based Hugh Hardie returns with 13-stunning tracks on his second studio album, ‘Shadows & Silhouettes’. After the success of the ‘Colourspace’ LP, he’s continued to develop his drum & bass style, producing a plethora of beautiful summer liquid, slick drumfunk and smooth down-tempo beats. He’s teamed up with the high-rising talents Pola & Bryson, Silence Groove and Unglued, as well as singer-songwriters Emer Dineen, Cimone, Robert Manos and Charlie Brix.

Kicking things off is a glistening dose of summer soul, ‘Raindrops’ featuring London-based singer/songwriter Cimone. Calling back to the Hospital loungecore sound, this stunning liquid roller brings untold levels of elegancy with soothing piano and that feel-good flavour Hugh Hardie is loved for.

Another shade of Hugh Hardie’s latest musical design is ‘Resistance’. An unlikely pairing with Hospital’s young wildcard Unglued but this drum-heavy dancefloor monster has all the stand-out trimmings of a jungle banger with skittering synths and warped vocal cuts.

Back down the path of soul-filled drum & bass is ‘Endless’ featuring Emer Dineen, a voice recognised for her many features on London Elektricity’s own productions. Plus there’s ‘Negomi’, with its funky bassline riff and east-asian inspired string work.

In addition to an impressive array of solo D+B productions, ‘Shadows & Silhouettes’ also sees a special feature from Shogun Audio’s Pola & Bryson on ‘Siren’. Together they’ve created a real stand out moment of the album with this captivating garage / breaks 130BPM road trip.

Grafix finally unveils his new sound to the world on his remarkable ‘Refuge’ EP - his first solo release in almost ten years since departing from his long-term collaborative outfit. Delve into his new found inspiration across four tracks that explore the world of underground dancefloor drum & bass.

The acid-techno inspired ‘Acid Generation’ calls back to the sound of rave counterculture through the late 80s, with a rapid-fire relay of metallic stabs that pack enough punch to surge through any concrete jungle.

As a duo, Grafix has previously released three albums with Hospital Records that included the huge drum & bass anthems ‘Major Happy’, ‘Forest Fires’, ‘Ultraviolet’, ‘Tension’ and many more. He’s had radio support from the likes of Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, MistaJam, Rene LaVice, as well as club support from the biggest in the game.

He’s previously toured the globe and this summer he continues to take dancefloors by storm with sets at Glastonbury, Liquicity Festival, Hospitality On The Beach, Boardmasters and more.

From dancehall classic to dancefloor banger, Hospital mainstay and esteemed soul-selector Nu:Tone applies his production savviness to Barrington Levy’s seminal reggae anthem, ‘Here I Come'. Stimulated from the ground up with a warm, rolling bassline and kitted out with skittering amens to boot.

Fresh from his huge cover of the Beatles classic ‘Come Together’, Urbandawn steps into the fold with an utterly outrageous, monster remix of Chaka Demus’ ‘Forward & Pull Up’. This one speaks for itself, in Urbandawn’s trademark punchy, crunchy style.

The album is also the original home for Benny L’s infamous John Holt ‘Police In Helicopter’ remix, which shot to Beatport’s #1 spot across all genres, making both drum & bass and Beatport history.

The 'Jet Star Meets Hospital' project is the collaborative workings of the legendary reggae label Jet Star and leading drum & bass imprint Hospital Records. Following six studio albums of funk-driven loungecore, Hospital Records’ head honcho London Elektricity embarks on the boldest musical adventure of his 30-year career with his seventh long-player ‘Building Better Worlds’.

It began in a Forest Hill cafe in 2017 where London Elektricity adoringly browsed through a series of Benjamin Beech’s photography of perfectly untouched, derelict buildings and towns in Japan, Taiwan and China. “Many of the images show what has been, what could have been and what will be. The duality of beauty and melancholia within appealed to me immensely.” Each track was married to a photo, to join the sights to sounds from each of his tales of ‘Building Better Worlds.’

Leading the voyage is the orchestral masterpiece ‘Final View From The Rooftops’, that’s been 13 years in the making and is the “most unusual piece of D+B” [he’s] ever made”, featuring the incredible operatic talent of Cydnei B. ‘Build A Better World’ is a smooth drum & bass sonnet with the vocals of Hospital family favourite Emer Dineen. “The beauty of this song lies in its simplicity, but also its duality. I'll leave you to work out what the lyrics are really about… They are some of the darkest lyrics I've come across in years.”

Another special moment is the feature of London Elektricity’s youngest son, The Secretary-General. The talented nine-year-old takes no ‘Time To Think’ as he flawlessly flows through Inja’s lyrics with the ever-vibrant MC following suit, bringing the track full-circle across generations.

London Elektricity is the mastermind behind classic Hospital albums such as ‘Pull The Plug’, ‘Syncopated City’, ‘Are We There Yet?’, and ‘Yikes’. His latest body of work delves into uncharted depths for a very personal and expressive collection of tracks where drum & bass and live instrumentation meet. London Elektricity can be found showcasing this latest chapter with tours in China, Japan, the UK and Europe throughout 2019.
