This project started as a personal challenge—to prove I could go beyond standalone beats and craft something cohesive. I’ve always believed music thrives on concept and atmosphere, and this EP explores fleeting moments of introspection—sometimes warm, sometimes unsettling. The meaning is open-ended; music often speaks best without words. But if you’re drawn to nostalgic piano melodies, dark resonant strings, and intricate textures, this might resonate with you.

02. The Lighthouse

Lonely Owl is a Northern based experimental music producer and DJ who creates forward-thinking electronic music. From DJing within intimate underground venues to producing eclectic arthouse film scores and A/V, Lonely Owl has carved out a home-grown artistic vision and diverse style.

Exploring and subverting genres of music is key to Lonely Owls complex and varied sound, from a very early age he was exposed to key influential figures such as Frank Zappa, David Bowie, Brian Eno & David Byrne and draws inspiration from the bleak experimental sounds of Warp Records & Ninja Tune, this laid the foundations of how his own music style was approached and developed. 

Lonely Owl has been commissioned to create music for theatre and performance at North East based arts and culture organisations such as Dance City and Alphabetti Theatre. Having gained fundamental tech experience at the internationally renowned culture centre Sage Gateshead and graduating from Gateshead College (2015) in Music Production, Lonely Owl has carved out a clear identity that reflects his conceptual and open-minded creative approach. Mixing up broad styles ranging from Trip Hop, Nu Jazz, House & Dance and bringing in samples of raw material recordings Lonely Owl continues to evolve and push boundaries through his tenacious approach and melodic thinking.
