Lurking beneath the bridges, this was said to be a creature that was never seen by daylight. Perhaps that was because few feared to visit the trenches to find out what mischief it had been causing down there as of late... It was rumoured to live alongside the river which flowed through the old park and the old parts of the city which had become overgrown but for the occasional wanderer looking for something lost.

It was called the Chuffalump, a magical creature who was said to escort people into the outer reaches of the night and lead them in a merry dance of witchy mystery. Some sought to find it and become friends, others feared that it might warp their tiny minds leaving them but a mere semblance of their former selves...

Pigeon Steve is a familiar face amidst the underground music community in Glasgow. This is the first outing on a newly launched record label called Future State and the record has been described as a 'certified trip'. We certify the claim and reckon this one will certainly do well in the small uncertain hours of the morning.

We are thrilled to introduce @johnpatter to the label. The Vilnius-based  DJ / producer brings forth three original tracks, each offering a unique sonic journey into leftfield territory.
Opening the EP is 'The Risk,' a captivating blend of beautiful melodies and a heavy bassline, tailor-made for a peak-time frenzy. Following suit is the title track, 'Uneven Accents,' a breakbeat-driven monster that keeps listeners on their toes with every twist and turn. Rounding off the originals is 'In Front of the Eyes,' a track that slows down the tempo and ventures into deeper, chuggier territories.
In addition to these originals, label head Facets makes a triumphant return with a remix of 'The Risk,' injecting the track with heightened tempo and energy.

'Uneven Accents' is set to be released on May 3rd.

The sound echoed in the dusty chamber. A small crowd had gathered to observe him play in what was a beautifully orchestrated environment. The audio was crystal clear, it landed softly upon the ears of the delicate audience as they stared fiercely into the darkness. For he was not visible, at least not to the naked eye, the vamp was all that was important in this place, not his outward appearance, tattered clothes or distant gaze. The music was all that mattered. 

Arkajo makes up one half of the infamous Genius Of Time duo. His solo work sees him draw upon darker influences, more akin to the sound of murky back room club.

Morgan Wright is a producer from Melbourne. His work places emphasis on introspection as it functions both on and off the dance floor. Wright bends sound around familiar club tropes to evoke an emotive response in the listener. The interplay of aggression and emotion, especially apparent in his live set, hints at a thread between his debut solo 12” and his time as a member of established Australian hardcore band Imprisoned. Coburg features a flipside remix from DJ Zozi aka D. Tiffany (Planet Euphorique, Pacific Rhythm).

PREMIERE : Morgan Wright - The Tell

A third of Italian production act Agents Of Time, Sharp Felon loops out of the trio's orbit to land his debut solo EP on Maceo Plex's Lone Romantic, 'Let The Game Begin' - featuring three stunt-driving cosmonautical bangers that aim to abolish all sense of gravity in the club and beyond. Breaking in at fierce speed, 'Devil Trail' attacks pedal to the metal and leaves prismatic wisps of vapor in its wake. A proper electro-magnetic dasher, the track alternates steady shooting sequences of 303-marinated bass with eloquent kosmische-indebted synth maneuvers and laser-precise breaks, all joining forces to have your feet shuffling and mind drifting up into higher spheres of consciousness in one potent backhanded caress.

A more straightforward affair, B-side opener 'Telework Titan' lifts its listener off to a further compelling state of meditative balance through a nonetheless muscular groove and epic-sized sub-bass moves. Cruising in the upper layers of the stratosphere, Sharp Felon's stamps on the accelerator of his shark-mouthed spaceship and hedgehops across craggy alien reliefs with personal hands-on skills. Intergalactic transmissions announce an imminent extra-terrestrial invasion, it's time to tune out and enter the melee. Laser guns blazing and acid stabs smoking, 'Cyber Fex' nose-dives in an enemy-occupied territory and washes over the ground brawl like a hi-tech tsunami. Purebred Donald-ian face-melter in sheer Dopplereffekt meets Arpanet fashion, this one lacks no oomph.

B1. Sharp Felon - Telework Titan

This @DarkScienceElectro premiere we look to a Belgian artist for a release on French label @Ukonx Recordings. 

No stranger to all things Dark Science Electro, @Datawave has been recently making waves in the Electro world with his dark brand of Electro. Since I noticed the work of this 36-year-old producer I knew that I was hearing the work of a future master. Through DSE, I have promoted him in every way imaginable in hopes that listeners/labels would follow suit. Thankfully his sound is infectious enough that it didn't take much visibility for him to gain the attention of various Electro labels and DJs. He has since become a household name of enthusiasts of the genre.

This premiere comes off a new release from a great label out of France called @Ukonx that has been putting out fresh Electro since 2011. The song selected to premiere is the opening track of the release entitled 'Subspace Halo'. The track takes us to an ominous place with pulsing bass, delayed arpeggios, moderately-paced beats, and melancholy strings. This release will become available for purchase on June 9th.

If Galaxy Lane’s first EP didn’t send the portals of time and space upside down, then the second EP will throw you down a vortex of hypnotic grooves juxtaposed with eerily erratic rhythms built in outer space. The first of two EP’s to be trusted in the hands of Lone Romantic, ‘Night’ and ‘Later That Night’ will explore the concept of capturing moments in time. Maybe Galaxy Lane can best summarise... “I want people to really feel the mistakes in this music, the dirt, the rough and raw approach, the ‘sitting on the floor surrounded by wires at 3am messing with synths’ approach. That to me is the magic of this music, the interaction of man and machine, to hear the nuances, the tweaking of knobs and pushes of faders. I think we have lost that somewhat with digital technology, and have lost a lot of feeling in the process.

‘Night’ will propel the listener into ethereal textures layered over rough and raw beats, as outlined on opening track ‘Deep Space Nine’. If that sets you up for thinking this will be a dreamy ride, ‘Communication’ hits hard at the rear of the spaceship, coming at you with intergalactic bleeps, zaps and back cracking rhythms made for getting down.
