Sideline is a pedigreed six-piece powerhouse whose style has set the pace in Bluegrass for over two decades. Founders Steve Dilling, Skip Cherryholmes and Jason Moore can all claim their own historical significance to the genre as members of highly awarded groups, multiple Grand Ole Opry appearances and years of national and international touring. What started as a side project for the seasoned players soon moved to the front and center and they began to record and release albums in earnest. In 2019, Sideline won the IBMA Song Of The Year Award for their hit single, "Thunder Dan."

Their newest single, "Fast As I Can Crawl," reveals itself as purely bluegrass brought to life with Sideline’s trademark drive, timing and finesse. The song offers a portrait of a man whose bad choices in love have left him in a state of desperate regret—a story often told throughout bluegrass history, but rarely with the sense of urgency and consummate skill Sideline brings to the job. Introducing a new series from the Crossroads Label Group stable of bluegrass, folk & Americana (Mountain Home Music Co., Organic Records), this debut single is one of four tracks laid down at a socially-distanced July recording session by Jeremy Garrett (of the GRAMMY-winning Infamous Stringdusters and principal writer of this song), guitarist Skip Cherryholmes (Sideline), Zoe & Cloyd’s Kevin Kehrberg (bass), mandolin player Darren Nicholson of two time IBMA Entertainers of the Year, Balsam Range, and five-time IBMA Banjo Player of the Year, and Kristin Scott Benson (The Grascals). 	“Start Walking Back” is a slice of down-to-earth advice set to a hard-edged beat, with the song written by singer/fiddle player Jeremy Garret—member of the GRAMMY-winning Infamous Stringdusters—and series producer/frequent writing partner, Jon Weisberger. "For this song, we got onto the topic of how perseverance and persistence aren’t always virtues; sometimes, the right thing to do is to remove yourself from a situation and try to reset and find a new approach," says Weisberger. The song drops immediately into a ferocious, straightforward bluegrass groove that shows how easily these players—a who's-who of current bluegrass stalwarts—blend as if they’d been playing together for years.

Lonesome Day Records is a small independent record label based in Booneville, Kentucky, where the label holds its main office and studio and is run by owner Randall Deaton. With future plans to open an office in Lexington, KY the label - which takes its name from a Bruce Springsteen song - has released some of the most noteworthy records in bluegrass and roots music from an impressive roster of talent, which has included over the years Fred Eaglesmith, Ralph Stanley II, and Larry Cordle. Today, Deaton has a new slate of talent carrying the bluegrass torch, including Girls, Guns and Glory, Richard Bennett, Tim Shelton, Jeff Clair, and Jeff Parker. As for Deaton’s musical mission, it's simple: Make great music with integrity and quality. “The power of music is astonishing. The subject matter of songs has not really changed over hundreds of years yet there is 'new' music created everyday and people still want it. I think we have done some records that will still be played years down the road. The music industry may change but it isn’t going anywhere. People will always want good music but they just may buy it in a different way," he explains.
