OVERVIEW:
Time for the second black label M_Rec Ltd 10”, a series of no-frills vinyl records used by Max_M to deliver dancefloor oriented tracks to djs and techno fans around the world.

On one side, Max_M delivers an irresistible joint that thanks to layers and layers of elements manages to surprise beginning to end. That high pitch bell sound, which is somehow becoming a trademark in Max_M’s productions, splits in multiple directions generating soulful melodies and grooves. A perfect track for peak time.

Fabrizio Lapiana’s cut is an introspective journey rich in modular-fueled melodies. Its mellow refrains pay tribute to ambient classics and trippy British electronica, while the drum programming sets the track into a techno context, groovy and forward driving.

My official remix of the Infiniti classic "Game One". The original track was created by Juan Atkins and Orlando Voorn. This remix was released in 2007 on wax as part of a double pack featuring mixes by Santiago Salazar, Los Hermanos and more on Orlando's Night Vision label with artwork by Haqq. It was then re-released digitally in 2014 on my RF label as part of "Selected Remixes One",  buy links for that below. Appreciate the support. - RF

Phonica Records’ limited offshoot returns with a second 12” from the man that kickstarted the label – Iori. The Okinawan producer, whose “Galaxy / Urge” 12” won praise from across the board, has been working prolifically and this is only a brief glimpse of things to come… 

First up is "Spaciotemporal" - a ten and a half minute techno odyssey towards the deeper echelons of the genre. Starting off as a simple drum pattern, “Spatiotemporal” slowly but steadily builds up, with Iori bringing layer after layer of synths – proper mid-paced cosmic techno!! It’s definitely one of those tracks that need to be left to do their work – preferably on a loud soundsystem! 

On the flip, we’ve secured the remix talents of one of the hottest names in techno at the moment. All the way from cold Sweden, Skudge have made quite a name for themselves in the last year, with solid releases on their own imprint. Their remix of “Grit” more than exceeded our expectations. It’s a masterpiece of stripped down techno that brings to the fore all the parts we like from the original, while taking it in a completely different direction.
