Just in time for spooky season we've got a proper deep and dark 140 session for the 82nd Sublimix from our friend Mandala Ataksak from the woods of New Brunswick, Canada. She's been a strong ambassador of the dubstep sound for over a decade as a selector and stream manager for dubplate.fm as well as standing tall as a strong proponent for bringing up femme and non-binary artists in the underground bass scene. She's got no time for you bullshit if you're not working to build a more inclusive scene for those underrepresented. 

Keep your eyes and ears on this one, as she is a force to be reckoned with. Crank your cans and/or speakers. This is serious head down business.

"This mix has gone through quite an evolution and means a lot to me personally. It started out as a jam session recorded on turntables for my dear friend Rhombi’s birthday. I ended up really digging the recording, listening to it quite a bit and using a number of the mixes in my 2021 festival sets. I had a fucking blast working with this music over the summer and it’s a real pleasure to leave this mix here in its final form with Sublimate. This was my first time recording on CDJs. I’m a hard-core turntables bitch but decided to push myself to record on different gear. It was refreshing and fun as hell to smash upon those buttons! Big ups to all the incredibly talented producers that I have included in this mix. Huge love and gratitude to those of you supporting and listening. Women's Day 2023 Tribute to Iran

We are beyond honoured to share with you our 2022 Shambhala set from The Living Room Stage!

A decade ago Shambhala was the first festival each of us had the life-changing opportunity to behold. Our experiences on the farm, and the music we enjoyed, set us upon the path we now tread. What a magical moment it was to come full circle, and share music on this stage. To have the honour of gifting back that magic to a new set of dancing, screaming, humans was nothing short of amazing. 

We had the pleasure of sharing this mix of 80's Vampire Dungeon Disco in the afternoon of the Thursday. The crowd was electric, and so beautifully engaged! Starting off this set we took the opportunity to share a brand new original track that we conceived in honour of The Living Room. The set that followed was a selection of tunes that we had a deep connection to. Some older, some new, some we had not had the opportunity to share yet, but all were selected for the meaning and sentiment they held.

Without further ado, we share with you, our live recorded set from The Living Room Stage 2022.

What the hell.... here's the live recording of me doing one of my first super cheater DJ sets in 2014 for the Nautilus Parties at Anza club thrown by the legendary SHAH DJ's. I don't know how to DJ... I never did... if you saw me play it was cause I was playing my own shit like a band. I feel like I've been over and over this but I still have to tell people this month after month for almost 20 years. Anyway, I was told I could do whatever I want... well this is what happens.... 7 years ago mind you. Fuck it, I'm holding onto so much stuff its kinda stupid at this point, just fucking have it. Huge grain of salt factor in full effect. Relax, its just music. Enjoy if possible. Promoters: this is what happens when you get pay talent in beer hahaha ... . .  .. . ....... ><

Strange Things I've Done

"Mr. King" LIVE at Anza Club "DJ" Set from 2014 at Nautilus for SHAH DJ's - FREE DL

Longwalkshortdock esentially started the first time Dave King heard gritty electronic music in early eighties videogames. Strongly influenced by these sounds and melodys, Dave started recording and looping segments as a child. He also got a taste for sampling and recording; taping segments of his piano practice to fool his parents into thinking he was practicing in the other room when he was really playing nintendo (note : actually practicing might have served him better). Currently, a veteran of sound design and electronic music production for well over a decade, Longwalkshortdock's music has stepped into a genre of its own. Heavily influnced by early 80s video game music, metal and rock music, found-sound and vintage analog synthesis, he stacks layers of melody in his tracks until they implode and reform. Heavy drums and aggresive synths join forces with rolling grooves and melodic lead lines to create a wide variety of slamming dance floor originals. Lesser known fact : Not limited to dance music, LWSD's music crosses into many territories. His vast catalogue of hundreds of songs dives into ambient, IDM, electro, acid, house, big beat, indie rock, drones, electronica and down tempo. Dave holds two degrees from the Art Institute of Burnaby for Music Recording and Production. Playing songs and remixes he wrote and produced, Longwalkshortdock performs live PA with live vocals, synthesizers, drum machines, guitar, effects, toys, computers and even some of his own strobes and lighting. Know for his increadably "enthusiastic" performances, longwalkshortdock creates an undeniable stage presence and visceral experience at a show. Break through performances at Soundwave 2009 and Shambhala 2010 have made LWSD an artist to watch out for. He was even recently featured on the legendary Annie Nightingales pod cast on BBC radio 1 as a result of a review received about his "smashing" Shambhala 2011 performance. Longwalkshortdock has performed live with the likes of Phil Western (Download, Skinny Puppy, Kone) and opened for talented artists like, MSTRKRFT, Opiuo, Junkie XL, Vibesquad, Alex Patterson (The Orb), Mimosa, Adam Freeland, Shout out out out out and Matt the Alien too name a few. Always working to enhance and upgrade the LWSD live experience Dave is currently in the process of collaborating with veteran of visual wizardry Tim Hill of RIM Visuals. Using at least 10 projectors loaded with custom content, the live LWSD experience is nothing short of a full venue transformation into a etherial and immersive light cube of doom! Longwalkshortdocks second self-released record entitled "Bigger Fish Frying" follows up on his debut album "Casual Tea" with many signs of progress and promise. Final point of note : Did you know they found him in a cave on the moon? Thats what i heard...
