The Last Days of Pompeii, AKA Ru Stewart, is an Edinburgh based producer, DJ and record enthusiast. Having cut his teeth DJing in his hometown of Aberdeen - as an eclectic music lover and avid record collector - has been building his vinyl collection over the past 10 years. His DJ sets consist of classics, rare jams and forgotten gems from a diverse range of styles - in particular boogie, groove, house and disco. He’s quickly growing a solid fanbase with his energetic mixes and ease at weaving between styles and hosts a monthly radio show “The Wow! Signal” on “It’s Not Radio”. His passion for vinyl and music now sees him cutting records for local musicians, DJs and producers. 

In the studio Ru writes and records on an array of 80s synths and drum machines while the live
show features him at the helm of loops, synths and live drums; able to remix tracks on the fly
and adapt to the personality of the crowd.
 
His well-received debut release “Make Me Believe” on “Fresh Take Records'' was followed up by “LXXXVIII” on “Precog Records”, and a stack of self-releases on his Bandcamp. While his dance floor heater “A Taste of Honey - Ain’t Nothing But A Party Edit” on “Disco Express” received support from such acts as Dirty Channels. This was followed up with his heavy hitting Xpress Edits Vol 9 EP and with his latest EP 'Sizzlin' on "Underground Sound" gaining BBC Introducing and Radio 1 airplay - “The Last Days of Pompeii” is definitely one to watch.

Episode 226: Return to Subcity

Faro is a Brighton based artist who has played all across the UK and beyond since 2014. She holds down residencies at Patterns night club and leading underground radio station Balamii, as well as her local station 1BTN. Faro is known for being a selector, digging deep for the best soulful records to play on her radio shows and gigs. A true music lover.

She has shared line ups with huge headliners, a few being Honey Dijon, Folamour, Dan Shake, Dimitri From Paris, Jeremy Underground, Alexander Nut, Cody Currie, Moxie, Cinthie and last year supported Annie Mac on her Brighton tour date. 

Her vibrant energy and uplifting music has graced many dance floors and venues across the world, notably Suncebeat Festival (Croatia), Kala Festival (Albania), We Out Here Festival (UK), Pikes (Ibiza), Motion (Bristol), XOYO (London) and not to mention taking over from Jayda G and closing Detonate Festival (Nottingham).

Faro grew up on her Dad’s collection of R&B and Soul, which heavily influences her selections today ranging from House, Broken Beat, Disco, Jazz, Garage and beyond. 

As well as DJing, Faro has spent time over the years putting on events and is currently starting regular parties with LEV at the renowned BBE Store in East London. She also works with To The Rock Records, one of the most refreshing soulful labels on the scene right now.

In her early days, Faro produced a track that was played on BBC Introducing - since then she has prioritised DJing but is now spending time in the studio working on production and vocals, with an EP set to come out spring 2025 with fellow artist Pandar.

This set blends early 90s house vibes with breaks and some after-party-friendly gems. Recorded live, it’s a true throwback to the roots of Black Pomade and DHP's journey, growing up together in the suburbs of Milan, where back then they played various local clubs and held a residency at the legendary, now-closed Jail Club. 

Despite Black Pomade relocating to Lisbon and DHP staying in Italy, the two still collaborate whenever possible—whether for releases on Black Pomade's Whoopee label or for b2b sets like this one. The music keeps the bond strong, and playing together always brings that raw energy and fun.

Artists’ bio:

Black Pomade is an italian DJ and producer. Founder of the Ruínas collective and the Whoopee party series, he’s now split between New York, Lisbon, and Milan.
Heavily influenced by the NY Disco scene and the Chicago House originators, he's known for his melting pot of analog synths, groovy basslines, and syncopated beats.
His sets travel through lots of House, Disco, and Acid records, filling the dance-floor with high energy and big smiles.
Between 2021 and 2023 he ran a residency at MusicBox Lisbon focused on connecting the Italian scene with the Portuguese one. Besides his regular shows in Lisbon and Milan, throughout the years he had the chance to bring his sound around Europe and Asia, playing in places Bangkok, Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, Vienna, and Sofia, among others, sharing the line-up with artists like Emmanuelle, Kamma&Masalo, Hunee, Don Carlos, Satoshi Tomiie, and the living legend Nicky Siano. He also contributed to renowned podcast series, such as SlothBoogie, Discoteca, and Histoires de Piscines, and radio shows in Melbourne, Pittsburgh, Skopje, São Paulo, and Ibiza.
Black Pomade released music on Last Forever Records, Rollover Milano Anything Goes, Stereo Ferment, Modmotif, Dig This Way Records, Youngbloods, and on vinyl for Martino Edits and Windmill Re-Edits. In 2023 he launched the vinyl-only edit series Manzo Edits and for 2024 he has upcoming releases scheduled on Whopee Rec.

DHP aka Life Dee
Valerio, also known by his stage name DHP aka Life Dee, is an Italian DJ and producer born in 1990. His passion for music began at the age of 11, when he started experimenting with cassette tapes, mixing his favorite tracks. His fascination with dance music grew when he discovered One More Time by Daft Punk on MTV in 2001, a pivotal moment that ignited his love for house, techno, and big beat.

Over the years, Valerio honed his DJ skills, performing with the collective MadMonk and producing music influenced by his favorite genres. After a brief hiatus, a trip to Berlin and Prague in 2020 inspired him to return to music, releasing mixtapes and new productions.

From 2020 to 2022, he shared the decks at the iconic 49 da ZDB in Lisbon and at private events alongside his friend and fellow DJ, Black Pomade. In 2023, his tracks “Ray Sings to the Hop” and “Oh...Money!” were featured on the vinyl release Manzo Edits, the latter also being a collaboration with Black Pomade.

Valerio’s distinct sound is inspired by old school American house and characterized by his energetic, bass-heavy approach. His EP “Da Bass, da Beat, and da Groove”, released on Whoopee Records, highlight his ability to craft bold, dancefloor-ready music that captures the spirit of his DJ sets.
