Newtown Rocksteady return with their second EP, Goin’ Steady this April 26th, hot on the heels of their performance at this year’s Womad NZ.

Recorded live at The Boardroom (an offshoot of infamous Wellington recording studio, The Surgery) and mixed collaboratively by band members and engineer, Ryan Prebble, Goin' Steady documents the band’s already well-developed live sound.

Marcelo Ritter – aka Madmass – is an aspiring DJ who's been recently carving his space within the psytrance local community.  

Originally from South of Brazil, his first encounter with electronic music was in the early 2000s when the tech-house rave scene was growing strongly on his home region. It didn’t take long until he came across psytrance, style of which he fell in love with. 

After migrating to Australia, with many years of festival attendances as a fan and follower of the international scene, Madmass decided to dive deeper into the psychedelic journey and started to play his house-made progressive trance sets in a few private gigs. His friends were always (and still are!) his main source of inspiration to keep fine-tuning his progressive mixes, while also keeping the dream of a DJ career alive. 

If you ever land on a dance floor where Madmass is behind the decks, you can expect an experience of profound connection with music. His sets are always individually crafted and feature a great mix of some respectful old school producers, meticulously blended with the latest fresh tunes released by the current mind-benders of psytrance.
