Before the age of today’s constant, hectic video content production, people used to share their interests and inner worlds through a simpler, more restricted format: the *checks notes* blog. One of those blogs was www.robynthinks.wordpress.com, where @rrrobyn1 reliably supplied bass music enthusiasts with the latest releases, special mixes, niche discoveries, and more. Beyond that, rrrobyn also curated the label Through These Eyes Records. While both the blog and the label may now be formally inactive, rrrobyn certainly isn’t — which is why we’re happy to welcome him back with a second mix for our podcast. Big thanks! When I first moved to Bucharest in 2023, Caroline Polachek’s Desire, I Want to Turn Into You had just been released. Pretty in Possible instantly became my favorite song on it, with lyrics that merge the mundane with the absurd in a way that deeply resonated with me. I felt the city resonated with it too. It’s quite random and has nothing to do with the actual music heard on these streets, but now that I live here, this is still how Bucharest often feels to me: like muffled drums, abrasive and soothing at the same time. Because of that one song, I started listening to a lot of trip-hop from the 1990s–00s. I began collecting songs (in a playlist called woosh woosh) - starting with stuff like Massive Attack, Everything But The Girl, Portishead, Saint Etienne, and Madonna’s Ray of Light. Over the past two years though, this has branched out in all sorts of new directions. Here’s how it sounds now."

Dann seid ihr mit uns! Schwierig wieder Worte zu finden, wenn Ereignisse einfach nur in sich für sich in alle Ewigkeiten so stehen könnten, weil ein danach so weit weg zu wiederholen scheint. Es war ein Fest, das Subardo Festival 2025, mit euch, mit allen Artists, Unterstützer:innen und Tänzer:innen! Lasst euch das sagen, drücken, umarmen! Lasst uns noch etwas mit diesen Sets darin schwelgen und darauf freuen, dass die Zeit kein inne halten kennt und unsere Gedanken doch schon wieder neuen Ideen entgegenstreben. 🌅❤️‍🔥🫶🏼

It's difficult to find the words when events could simply remain as they are for all eternity, because the future seems so far away. It was a celebration, the Subardo Festival 2025, with you, with all the artists, supporters and dancers! Let us tell you that, in hugging and squeezing!
