We are blessed to be joined by the wonderful, Birrarunga/Melbourne-based DJ Luv You / @djluvyou for Rotations Round 13. Ophelia aka DJ Luv You is the host of All Kinds of Joy on Skylab Radio, and one of the folk behind LUNA ( @luna_blessings )- a show on LYL Radio, party and mix series. Drawing from the moon's energy; LUNA is a space for sharing creations from womxn, queer and non-binary artists.  We've been keeping an eye on Ophelia for some time and have been so drawn to the playfulness and joy exuded in their mixes and live sets. This one is no different as Ophelia takes us through dreamy breakbeats, deep and groovy dancefloor fillers and left-field housey numbers.

Bside Incoming: Gallegos

We’re very pleased to present the latest instalment of the Bside Incoming series from Bristol based DJ, Producer, Record Collector, and ‘Room Service’ Label boss: Gallegos.

He’s plenty of experience behind the decks, as the founder and resident DJ of SHAPES in Bristol, where he’s warmed up for some of the very best in the business: Carl Craig, Omar S, Deetron and Move D. Since his debut release on Banoffee Pies in 2017, he’s maintained a steady stream of original and infectious dance records including his ‘B45’ EP which was featured by Chaos in the CBD for their essential mix. Gallegos now has an imprint of his own called ‘Room Service Recordings’, with his first release on the label providing a fitting conclusion to a Bside episode which explores the influences that brought him to where he is today.

Known for his dance music sets, but always unrestricted by genre, Gallegos is revered for his versatility and unpredictability. So, what a privilege to have excellent history of his broad musical influences, hip-hop, disco boogie, breaks and beats samples, Balearic, house and techno reminiscent of the Bristol rave scene, and an episode packed full of passion and nostalgia.

Bside Incoming: Gallegos

Highly Minogue is the co-founder of local crew Extended Family and a producer who dabbles in fun, infectious garage and house rhythms. He is also the host of Spinning Around on Area 3000, a weekly show which airs every Monday featuring guest mixes and interviews. On this impressive 23-track mix, he tinkers with many genres ranging from UK funky to acid house and even some jungle (and everything in between). It’s a dense journey that leans towards the percussive and darker side of the dance music spectrum. 

*Highly dedicates this mix to Extended Family crewmate Winnie the Wu (@winniethewu), who blessed him with the wisdom to spread his wings on this mix.
