Simina Grigoriu Arkana: A Techno Weapon for Late-Night Floors

You know those moments in the club when the air’s thick, the bass is rolling, and everything just clicks? Simina Grigoriu Arkana is built for exactly that. This one's for the heads who don’t leave till the lights come on.

The Kuukou Records boss is back doing what she does best — fusing relentless drive with that signature Berlin edge. Simina’s been killing it for over a decade, with releases on Drumcode, We Are The Brave, OFF, and of course, her own ever-rising label Kuukou. If you’ve been on a dancefloor lately, chances are you’ve already moved to one of her cuts.

On her new two-tracker ‘Arkana / Partners Of Destiny’ (TERM246), Simina Grigoriu goes full throttle. ‘Arkana’ is a no-nonsense stomper with a pulsing bassline, stuttering synth stabs, and more bounce than a Berghain stairwell at 6am. It’s dark, it’s hypnotic, and it’s got just enough funk to make you lose it mid-mix.

The techno scene is already on it. Pan-Pot said “Nice one,” Marco Faraone is backing ‘Partners Of Destiny’, and Drunken Kong are loading it into their sets. A.S.Y.S. is vibing too. When the tastemakers talk, we listen.

Enthusiast since child for electronic music, he makes a full immersion behind the software to be able to realize his projects. In 2013 he decide to sue his study pressue SAE, in Milan. Among the numerous release, the most important are on record labels like ELEVATE (label from the famous duo Pig & Dan), Terminal M (label from the famous german dj Monika Kruse),Sk Recordings (label from apulian dj Skizzo),  and OFF Recordings. His sound is easily recognizable because is composed of solid bassline and deep melodies, expressed aswell in his dj set.

Italian label Loose Records was established by Mario Manganelli and Rino Cerrone (who also run Rilis and Unrilis) in 2006 as an outlet for inventive, underground techno with a fresh perspective. 
Rino himself has long been a bastion of the Neapolitan techno scene, whilst Mario, too, has been promoting nights, running clubs and unearthing techno talents ever since the 1990s. 
Together the pair has a great understanding and has managed to mix up established talents with bright new comers, making the label a go to place for fans of proper techno.  Releasing both club ready EPs and full length artist albums in vinyl and digital format.
