Minimal and dubbed out techno has become the signature sound of the German DJ/producer Andre Kronert, who eschews the trend for fanfares and unnecessary frills often found in modern techno, on a super pair of new tracks for Kneaded Pains.  The ‘Purpose’ single comes with added remix pressure from Fossil Archive AKA Roberto.

The repetitive and industrial inflections of ‘Purpose’ churn out a swinging and hypnotising slab of afficionado’s techno, whilst ‘Babylon’ is a linear and driving deep cut with ethereal tones adding a softer touch.

Fossil Archive AKA Roberto has clocked up a slew of fine releases via Fachwerk, Be As One, Artform and his own Fossil Archive imprint, as well as collaborations with Roman Lindau, Jamie Anderson, and his take on ‘Purpose’ maintains its emotive edge whilst pushing some workhorse like drum patterns into the mix.

What’s up LAMP fam! We have a great new track for you today coming from a rising talent edetto. Hailing from Bristol, edetto is someone we will definitely be watching closely. Having gained the attention of his fellow Bristolian and Ei8ht co-owner Eats Everything we are all in for this one. A four track EP ‘Hustler’ is a percussive driven album and every single one of these tracks hits. You can pick up the album on Friday the 26th of February. As I mentioned before this whole ep is the business. ‘Two Toads’ stood out to me for several reasons.  I absolutely love the plucky synth line that is introduced from the onset and drives throughout the vast majority of the track. When I say drives I mean this track kicks hard. An absolutely massive kick pushes this track into another dimension entirely. I’m huge fan of the clap and all of the other groove elements that really keep this track flowing. The thing that tops everything off are the two vocal samples that surely give into the title of the track as they totally sound like two toads having a bit of a back and forth with each other. One big toad and one little toad is exactly what I see in my head. I am really excited to hear more from this up and coming artist. In the meantime I will also be checking out his radio show Reprezent Radio. Born and raised in Atlanta, Jamaal Loren Hutchinson — better known as Lor3n — comes from a deep musical lineage. He learned saxophone as a child and only later discovered his great‑grandfather Max Lucas had played with Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald. This connection to music ignited a lifelong exploration of sound, from co‑founding the rap collective BFO Strange’Us in college to joining co-founding the hip‑hop group The Gxng . His ambient‑hip‑hop style draws on Sigur Rós, Tycho and Radiohead and pairs shimmering pads and synths with gritty drums.

Lor3n’s 2016 self‑titled project laid the foundation for his blend of downtempo beats and vocals, but his 2021 album “When Everything Is Over” told a story of loss, healing and rebirth . That vulnerability flows through his singles: the radiant “Sunshine”, the ethereal “Euphoria”, the reflective “Remember.”  and “Pops,” a heartfelt tribute to his father who passed away in 2019. Each release feels like a chapter—on “Borrowed Time, Stolen Hearts” he processes relationships ; “Climb” and “Nice You” reach toward hope, and the uplifting “Higher” finds him emerging with renewed purpose . More than making music, Lor3n invites listeners into his journey and dreams of sharing these cinematic soundscapes with anyone who will listen. His goal is to craft “music that feels like home” and to connect with listeners through vulnerability and atmosphere.
