Hello World!

We welcome everyone to our radio show series, Gas GBLN radio!  With our show, we hope to connect with artists, both locally and internationally, to highlight their art and music and to get to know the person behind the artist. Stick around, you might learn a thing or two about artists around the West Coast scene (and whether they like pickles or if they think hot dogs are considered a sandwich).  

On this first episode, we are featuring the captains that make up Gas GBLN: @70A57, @LordLoubbit, @TallBoyJules, and @WalterWack999. While they don't ask any funny questions to each other, each captain introduces themselves and has a few words about the radio show and how everyone can get involved. It's not a lie, they truly do enjoy connecting with others and mixing music together. 

We hope you enjoy the next two hours of some of the Gas GBLN captain's favourite selections as of late, mixed in rave nonsense fashion.  There is going to be a lot more where this came from!

Hitori Tori for Acceleration Radio - recorded live in studio and aired on CFRO 100.5FM from 11pm-12am, 2025-05-29

Hitori Tori: 

Hailing from Vancouver, Canada Hitori Tori has seen a hand full of EPs and releases on labels such as Peace Off Records, Kaometry and Occult Research Records.

Early releases inlcluded IDM tracks under the artist name Finch on the Omniscience Complilation (Sugarmonk/Interchill Records) in 1999 alongside other notable artists such as Tim Hecker (Jetone) and Adam Shaikh. A full-length album under the artist name 'Fasp' was released on the Nishi net-label in 2002. In the years beyond, Hitori Tori has seen a hand full of EPs and releases on net labels such as Peace Off, Meta0, and Occult Research Records. Hitori's live performance videos have received praise in publications such as Computer Music Magazine and Create Digital Music.

Influenced by punk, emo and electronic music, he mixes hard-techno, trance and hardcore, resulting in a explosive high-BPM, high-energy soundtrack perfect for dark rooms with flashing strobelights. LIONESSA is an Egyptian-Canadian DJ based in so-called Vancouver. Her sets draw from a global upbringing in Egypt and across the Middle East, shaped by years in the West Coast rave scene. She blends Egyptian percussion as well as regional rhythms with underground global sounds that emerge from street culture and resist formal categorization.

Her work bridges cultural expression with global bass movements, delivering high-intensity sets that subvert traditional Middle Eastern/North African sound expectations while pushing the boundaries of the dancefloor.

She is the co-founder of Egyptian Street Meat, an all Egyptian artist collective, and a curator focused on building intentional, femme centric club spaces in Vancouver and her hometown Cairo. She also hosts Radio LABWA, a residency on Bside Radio spotlighting pioneering SWANA producers and highlighting the diversity of music from the region’s underground and diasporic scenes.


"Vancouver" is on the unceded territories of xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. As an immigrant, LIONESSA acknowledges her position as an uninvited settler on these lands.

LIONESSA delivers a deep, percussive trip through bass-heavy rhythms, raw textures, and clubwise tension. The mix carries a strong sense of movement—starting slow and spacious before shifting into high gear with blistering techno cuts, gqom-adjacent beats, and sharp-edged global grooves. It's playful, tough, and deeply rhythmic all at once.

"This mix is a reflection on the joy and drive to express myself despite the horrors that face my region and the dehumanization of my people. It oscillates between the rawness of deep hurt, rage and hope and lightheartedness."

Derdghayya Civil Defense Station in south Lebanon, specifically a community-driven initiative to equip the station with an ambulance and rescue equipment following Israel's destruction of the station and vehicles in October 2024.

Acceleration Radio - Wuji 001: V/A Earth Amulets - 2024-02-27

Every year, Alfonso, the artistic director of Mostra, hides a few cards up his sleeve, and this time one of them was DjSport. Closing the Friday program at Fabra i Coats is never random, it’s a statement, and by the time her halftime pulse began rolling through the space, we all knew why she was there. The groove was elastic, full of tension that never broke until she decided it should. Then came the shift: precision turning into pressure, tempo climbing until Fabra felt like a steam room. Just when it seemed ready to tip into chaos, she had her “hold my beer” moment, controlled detonation, a sudden swerve into broken, bass-heavy terrain that felt like opening a window mid-storm. From there on, it was cruise control, the kind that hums with energy yet never loses composure.

Mauritius-born and now based in Barcelona, DjSport carries that balance of warmth and unpredictability wherever she plays. Her debut at Mostra was the kind that makes you trust Alfonso’s instincts even more, those mysterious names on the poster that end up defining the memory.
