Nicoleta Ivascu is a Romanian classical pianist.

Her passion showed from an early age while she studied her instrument with Valentina Popovciuc. She successfully participated in numerous national and international competitions and festivals. She was awarded first prize in the Romantic miniature competition 2010, second prize at the national competition “The Virtuoso” in 2010, second prize at the Romanian miniature competition 2011 and fourth prize at the national Olympics of the Moldova region in Iasi Romania in 2011, and several other competitions.

During her studies in London she has been focusing on improving her technique and building a larger repertoire both as a soloist and a chamber musician with her two duo ensembles. She has also been enjoying solo performances such as the Schumann Series concerts, Old Town Festival in London where the repertoire included solo pieces by Mozart, Chopin, and contemporary composer Marcus Elkjer, and a duo piece with organist Tim Eyles. Her repertoire also includes Liszt, Beethoven, Bach and  Grieg. Recently she has also developed a particular interest in the compositions of Enescu, whose French compositional style attracted her to take occasional one-to-one lessons with French pianist Pascal Roge, focusing on the performance practice in this style.
