 Mohamed Moretta has taken the entertainment industry by storm. This Dominican-Haitian- Italian from Brooklyn, New York has used his multi-cultural background to become one of the world’s most innovative Songwriter – Producer – Remixer – DJ – On Air Personalities !

He has worked as a consultant to Soul Train’s last host Dorian Gregory and The Best Damn Sport Show Period’s John Salley, and on camera as the Los Angeles correspondent on NBC’s Weekend Vibe. He has played himself in the international hit movie “You Got Served.”  He is comfortable behind the turntables, in front of a camera or on a microphone center stage Whether it's at a Playboy Mansion Fundraiser or at The House of Blues, he is always guaranteed to rock the crowd.

No stranger to the business, Mohamed started his radio career at the age of 11 during a vacation in Haiti and went on to become a household name in Miami after working on Power 96 for 9 years.   He was the first D.J. to be featured on the cover of Hitmakers Magazine, while standing in the middle of Ocean Drive on South Beach, as one of its first major stars.  

He was the Master of Ceremonies for The Winter Music Conference Awards banquet for several years.

His residency at Club 1235 aka Mansion is unprecedented when the beach was a no man’s land.  He consistently packed that room with thousands of loyal followers as he broadcast live on the radio. Legendary venues such as Visions of Kendall, Eclipse, Club Manhattan, The Beat Club, Skylite Express, Stardome, Powerdome, Cameo Theatre and Club Nu all received the Moretta magic.

Don’t worry, Mo has been cleared by National Security! An accomplished Radio Programmer and trailblazer who single-handedly launched Spanish music in general market radio. His groundbreaking genius paved the way to set the standard for today’s pop culture music trends. Mohamed brought culturalism to the music world before culturalism was in the pop culture vernacular. His cutting edge style can still be heard during his weekly countdown on The World’s first International Top 40 Radio Station… One World Radio!

He is also a sought-after Songwriter and Record Producer who has worked on projects by an array of artists including Diana Ross, Rupaul, Gloria Estefan, Jennifer Paige, Marta Sanchez, Carlos Vives and Dolly Parton. 

Mohamed has always been ahead of the curve from his very first studio effort in 1982 where he crafted “Get Down On It”   The first 12” record in the history of Kool And The Gang to the groundbreaking Remix of Africa Bambataa’s “Planet Rock” or the Reggae Version of “Tell Me” by Groove Theory

Producing and remixing such acts as Sequal, Debbie Deb, Cynthia, Reinaldo and Trinere, he remains part of an elite group of tastemakers who helped create the 
“Miami Sound” His impact can still be heard in today’s music as artists emulate what they grew up listening to.

One of the first DJ’s to spin around the world, Mohamed penetrated the International marketplace almost 20 years ago with his classic song “Gotta Let You Go” by Dominica
Starting in Holland and quickly selling over 5 million copies all over Europe, it was released over 150 times by both Independent and Major labels, covered by 8 different artists and remixed over 300 times by the planet’s top DJ’s including Armin Van Buren who is currently # 1 in the world

Dutch DJs Laidback Luke, Afrojack, Dj Chuckie , Peter Gelderblom, DJ Guan Elmzoom and even Tiesto grew up listening to it and eventually began playing it in their sets.Mohamed has not only influenced DJ’s from around the globe but has a loyal fan base as well.

The History

* He was one of the first in the country to do a radio mix show and an on-air shift!

* His 10 o'clock hour on Power 96 Miami was the highest rated hour on the station, which made Mohamed the most listened to Disc Jockey in the state of Florida!

* For two years he was the only Disc Jockey in the country working on two major radio stations in the same market...Power 96 and WEDR!

• His Turntable Terrorism Radio Mix show brought foreign languages to the airwaves and broke new sounds such as Rap, Reggae and Latin Crossover by being the first to play Craig Mack – Flava In Your Ear, Rita Marley – One Draw,  El General – Tu Pum Pum, Miami Sound Machine – Dr Beat,                Technotronic – Pump Up The Jam,  Bayside Boys – Macarena, Taboo Combo – Baissez Bas and         Kaoma – Lambada, just to name a few.

• He was the first to book acts in Miami when they were unknowns such as Madonna, LL Cool J, R. Kelly, Lisa Lisa, Shannon, Run DMC, Mariah Carey and The Backstreet Boys.

• Once a top member of The Florida Record Pool, he eventually bought it. 

• He combined its DJs with Starsounds to create Hitz Record Pool which became the first to implement    radio mix show promotions

• He is a founding member of The DJ Vatican Conference call which still influences Top 40 radio.

• Mohamed started on Groove 103.1 in L.A. doing overnights and his midnight hour still became the stations’ highest rated hour in the first Arbitron book!

• One of the countries most respected Hispanic Newspapers, La Opinion, credited Mohamed as the first disc jockey to bring bilingual radio to Los Angeles

• He was promoted to Mid-Days within only three months and then to Afternoons where he dominated                                             at #1 consistently generating the most phones and the highest numbers across the board 12+ !

* He did over 500 station appearances in just 2 ½ years!

• As Program Director at Groove 103.1 he and his team of consultants set a world's record by playing a 7-second loop of a Spice Girls song over and over for 24 hours.

• All of the Networks covered this radio stunt which not only became the talk of the town, but proved to               be highly effective. In the first trend he tripled the station's audience and went from a  .6  to a  1.9  12+ !

* Mohamed made history once again by being the first to interview                                                                  Pop singer George Michael on the radio in over 10 years!!

 The Future      

He is currently in the studio working on his upcoming project Sounds in The Key of Light – The Album

He is collaborating with longtime production partner Eric Kupper as well as Greg Bahary and Carlos Cid of Hott 22 fame, Dj Motoe Haus, Cedric Gervais, Plastik Funk, Kurd Maverick, Tech, Jason Mill, Marc Van Linden and Todd Terry.
