The independent release of her debut EP Wildflower in 2020 saw stunning newcomer and multi-instrumentalist, Lorraine Nash, quickly become one of the most played female artists on Irish radio regularly featuring on RTÉ Radio 1 playlists. A spellbinding, live-streamed set at Cork Opera House in December 2020 by the Kerry singer songwriter led to her signing with FIFA Records.

Lorraine’s vocal emanates from soulful place, somewhere between Tracy Chapman and Gillian Welch, and is perfectly suited to a musical palate that evokes Americana and folk tones. Performing since she was 7 years old, Lorraine is a talented pianist, guitar, harp, flute and violin player, skills that she has brought to the recording studio to create her debut EP. Equally at home in Irish Trad, Lorraine’s original material brings a mix of musical styles to the table while ensuring that her own unique voice and élan comes through unmistakably.  

Lorraine is currently releasing new material from her impending debut long player due out later this year.

Sounds from a Green World
 
September 2011 saw East Limerick Community Radio launch its fulltime broadcasting schedule and as part of its weekly programming I host “Sounds from a Green World” every Thursday night at 8.30pm.
 
Never before has Ireland enjoyed such a rich and diverse music scene, however only a handful of artists amongst the hundreds that are out there are getting the airplay & promotion their creative efforts deserve. 

The show champions the hoards of up & coming acts whilst paying homage to those that have already made an impact and those that have left a musical legacy behind them.
 
I believe that music has a special power to move the soul and inspire - this is especially important in these challenging times when the nation could badly do with positive things to be proud off and our musical talent is most definitely something to treasure and support.
