Rotor - Dead

Mortlock & Universal Project's 'Broken Silence' album stands to this day as a favourite LP for many. Previously unavailable in a digital format, Dispatch Recordings is proud to present a new twist on an all-time classic drum & bass album including new bonus material. Each track sounds superb, thanks to the glossy, modernised 2024 mastering work from Haden at Height Mastering. 

In the early 2000s Mortlock was part of Vicious Circle and dropped one of their first demos through the door of Universal Project's flat. By surprise this led to their first release on Renegade Hardware - a remix of the Universal Project track 'Jackhammer'. This connection would continue to be creative with Mortlock eventually moving into that same flat with Universal Project, where the legendary 'Rollers Convention' would form the first track from this album. Aiming to encapsulate the full range of styles that had inspired them during those furtive years, the album reflects their diverse influences with nods to everything from high melodics to tearout filth. All whilst still maintaining the essence of their sounds - which is to always keep it rolling. 
 
A lesson in rollers in the original sense, this is a firm favourite release for Ant TC1 who has led the 2 year album curation process as a fan first and foremost - it embodies raw breakbeat-driven tech-funk with heavy percussive 2-step and unique soundscapes for that unique Siren Records sound. Now complete with additional tracks, plus singles from the Siren catalogue.

TRC2 drops his first full EP on Codename: RCRDS with a stunning selection of deep rollers perfectly showcasing this rising talent with a defiantly unique sound pitching towards darker edges.

The EP opens with 'Basement', where crisp breaks and gully baselines combine with ominous atmospheres and synth riffs for a dark introspective roller. Things continue with the haunting techy dreamstate of 'Marvel At What Could Have Been', full of stabbing synths and rumbling basslines, before title track 'Assembly Code' moves towards more rolling drumfunk stylings. The EP closes with techstep 'Rapid Adaptation', where initially darker elements give way to lush pianos and driving synths.

Creatures - Gully

Hailing from the South Coast of the UK, Focal Tone is a DNB producer focused on using abrasive and incessant elements in his tracks. Having previously released on labels such as Modular Carnage & Lost Recordings, this is his debut single on FUCK ABOUT!

Over his journey in music, Focal Tone has experimented with various genres including Hip Hop and House. This background still influences his tracks today along with listening to a wide selection of music spanning back to the old days of Jazz and Funk.


Penumbra is a murky opening to the single, featuring harsh percussive drums accompanied with searing reese basses and a dark atmospheric mood. Omission calls upon old school jungle chords for the intro but slowly descends into an intense and brash roller with a strong push & pull from the basses.
