Lost Angeles stans know how intentional I am with my work. These are songs I needed to write for myself, but not songs that fully fit into the story I’m crafting. You might hear bits and pieces of these lyrics and melodies on my debut album, but not the production. It is my stroy and my truth, as is all my music, but it’s a different side of me which I’ll be sharing on the album in a different way than is presented on this mixtape. I produce all my music, so these were exercises in songwriting using beats sourced online. Doing these kinds of excercises led to the creation of “BRUTAL DESIRE” in 2019 for the SACRIFICE EP (2020), my only song officially released that’s produced by somenone else because it’s just SO fucking good and iconic. It’s produced by 8milotb, who’s beat “can i call u?” is the production on STARGAZING in this mixtape.

A Dystopian Fixation

This song was written for Sizzy Rocket's 26th birthday. I've been keeping up with her work for 2 years now and one of her newer songs, Real Life, got me out of a tremendously long period of writer's block. This song isn't the type of music I typically make - instead I tried to emulate Sizzy's style of music. The lyrics feature a slew of references to her body of work as well as a lot of the things she's into. I tried to imagine what a Sizzy Rocket-to-the-extreme birthday party would feel like and I came up with this.
