Mala Herba is a solo project of sound artist and queer music activist Zosia Hołubowska. The music draws from darkwave and minimal synth-wave but sometimes the melody cracks, the voice becomes a magic spell and the song transforms into a noise soundscape. Polyrhythmic pulsations are stacked on top layers of harsh noise and processed archival samples and then arpeggiated bass kicks in again and the music oscillates between haunted italo-disco and EBM.

Dasha Rush is a Russian born artist who sees the genre as a starting place not a destination. She is a respected and well-travelled DJ and live performer, but her work is equally focussed away from the dance floor, and sometimes away from music itself. Her recent album for Raster-Noton, Sleepstep, could be a metaphor for her work: "These 16 pieces are transmissions from that state between sleep and wakefulness," said Tony Naylor, a reflection of the in-between zones her music often inhabits. Dubby but intense, brutal but tender, foggy yet clear—Sleepstep was a wonderful mass of contradictions. Not being one thing or the other is vitally important to Rush, which goes hand-in-hand with her strong independent streak. The majority of the music she's released since starting out in 2005 has come through her own Fullpanda label and, as she told us in 2013, she's resistant to playing the publicity game in the way many in the scene do. That's meant she's remained off the radar for some techno fans, but it's also given her the freedom to explore projects and sounds as she pleases. With all this mind, it was little surprise that our invitation to record a podcast was met with, "Yes, but it won't be a club mix." What we got instead was an absorbing 65 minutes of dense ambient soundscapes that shows Rush at her most reflective. The mix comes ahead of the North American premiere of Antarctic Takt, Rush's A/V show with Stanislav Glazov, at this week's Mutek festival in Montreal.

DJ, promoter, member of Mødule collective and resident of P23 Katowice club. Couple years of playing and collecting vinyl records has had a great impact on his mixing skills and his remarkable selection. He played at the legendary Tresor in Berlin, Instytut Festival, Audioriver and also in best clubs in Poland. Within the Mødule event series, he hosted parties with artist such as: Zadig, UVB, Henning Baer, P.e.a.r.l. or Setaoc Mass. Club savage with no fear of any dancefloor.

BIO:
Vinyl and it’s sound has always been the love of the Wroclaw artist Aksamit. In her compositions, you can find hypnotic sounds of ambient, deep techno and tribal.
A Wrocław DJ, a resident at Projekt Pralnia, a founder of Affekt and
Velvet Vortex, is definitely rising talent in the polish techno scene. Her love of vinyl led her to the Berlin club Tresor, in which she played during the iconic Klubnacht & All You Need Is Ears. Currently, she has performed in most Polish clubs and festivals - Wisłoujście, Revive, Instytut, LAS Festival, Kaskada Festival and Audioriver Festival. She has also performed outside of Poland - Germany, Spain, Andorra, Denmark, Ireland and the UK. She recently won the Polish Club Stage award in the Munoludy plebiscite in the Discovery of the Year 2018 category. 
During her short 3-year history with techno music, she had the honour of playing alongside such artists as Dasha Rush, Ellen Allien, Chris Liebing, Keith Carnal, Neel, Takaaki Itoh, Perc, Monoloc, Tadeo, Introversion, Luigi Tozzi, Claudio, PRC, Korridor or Refracted.

Lost In Ether | P R E M I E R E | Umwelt - Superior Life Forms [Midnight Shift]

Umwelt allies with Midnight Shift for the release of the mini LP Superior Life Forms, featuring six devastating tracks on the vinyl release and an exclusive number seven for the digital release.
Known for his take no prisoners approach to searing hardware-based broken electro with the spirit of 90s French rave parties where he participated in, Umwelt himself is founder of labels such as Fundata, New Flesh Records and Rave or Die, and a diehard scene activist, pushing the resistance for the past twenty years and more.
A dark, sci-fi bleak horror theme runs through his prolific cosmos of productions and Superior Life Forms continues the narrative. It’s a tri-invasion attack between man, machine and foreign sentient beings. From the snarling Shadow Entity creeping from the sidelines to the ominous sound of the day of reckoning depicted on title track, Superior Life Forms, Umwelt has full control of the genre – telling a story with tightly programmed sounds, deadly textural atmospherics and an uneasy, foreboding tension of a world signalling its end.

BIO:
Born and bred in Tricity - northern Poland, Natt has been producing and DJ-ing since 2009 being a strong representative of seaside drum and bass scene. In 2018 he cofouned DREN project (alongside with Akton) what resulted in moving him towards more experimental sound scapes. 
Natt is constantly searching and developing his style as a producer and being avid enthusiast of Black Metal you can clearly hear this influence being incorporated into his broken beat and heavy bass musical structures.

Moćni veštičiji vokali ispleteni u hipnotične ritmove, hladne bas linije i romantične melodije sintisajzera. Muzika vuče na darkwave i minimal synth-wave, ali povremeno melodija pukne, glas postane čarolija i pesma se pretvori u bučni pejzaž.
