More about Luca:

Every DJ set of him is a story about the cosmos and the present moment -seen trough his way of thinking.
A musical trip oscillating between something atmospheric and experimental, deep and functional, but also acid killer tracks.

Else, about him, Luca is a DJ from the South of France, where he started to play some quality techno records while he were still learning at school 1789's revolution. Now he is located in Hamburg, Germany, a rising city in the Electronic music scene. 
He is part of Techno Scene crew -located all around the world, based in Berlin- which is a group of passionate people who gives space everyday to artists, labels, events, hot news, linked to the authentic Techno scene.

We would like to introduce techno vision delivered by polish dj/producer duo called The Effaith, Check This techno bomb from Poland!

Some info about artists:
The Effaith is a duo formed by two polish DJs and producers Lazy M and Prismatik at the beginning of 2013. The guys have been known each other for a long time before they had decided to join their forces. They have released music on record labels such as Naked Lunch, Yellow Recordings remixing Frankyeffe and successfully Audio Elite with two EPs with a remix from NHB. Now, they are working hard on fresh and quality material to start a new chapter with even darker, raw and more industrial Techno.
Their every dj-set is another story told to hypnotize the crowd with heavy sounds of Techno. They always go trough the trip together with crowd feeling what they want surprising them at once. The crowd has always been an inspiration for them as well as sounds of Berlin Techno which is their love. Michał and Paweł always improvise by combining Traktor with Ableton Live. It makes their every show unique.

We would like to introduce techno vision delivered by french dj/producer Dial.

About Dial:
Born in eastern France, near the Swiss border, Dial grew up in a musical universe rich and eclectic. Trained guitarist, it was in 2009, when he moved to Lyon, he discovered and fell in love with electronic music. For 2 years now, Dial travel in French and foreign clubs alongside iconic artists of the current wave techno as Shifted, Savas Pascalidis, Pfirter Lewis Fautzi, Milton Bradley, Sigha, Regal, Pär Grindvik, Dj Qu or Eddie Fowlkes, and many more. He transcribed through his sets, a heavy atmosphere, dark, industrial, drawing inspiration from the powerful techno produced in Detroit and Berlin. He obtained a residency in legendary club in Lyon, DV1, with the promoter XLR he joined in 2014 and is also part of the artists booking agency Flowerbird (Switzerland). He signed his first EP in 2015 on the Italian label, Absolute Records

My next attempt. Trying out some new gear - Xone 42 I just got from Jandro, and a couple of 1200's connected to Traktor for the first time.

I tried to do a more mellow, melodic set. Found later that it had no chill. The goal was to explore the deeper dimensions of modern techno. This mix includes tracks from Planetary Assault Systems, UVB, Unam Zetineb, YYYY, KVD, Edit Select, Sven Vath, Deepbass, and Abdullah Rashim. Enjoy!

The author of our latest podcast needs little to none introducing, at least for Kraków's club-goers. Forming Chrono Bross and Radar crews, having spent hundreds of hours spinning at numerous venues, Olivia has been around for years now. More recent is her collaboration with infamous Unsound festival - she has run its dedicated radio show at Off Radio, and played at the festival's events, both in Kraków and abroad.
Olivia's hallmarks are: raw, acidic sound, fascination with the 80's, eclecticism, musical erudition and masterful mixing skills. Needless to say, her weapon of choice is vinyl.

(Day Four) Olivia

Olivia is one of the hardest workers in the Polish techno scene. She used to run the now-defunct Radar club, since becoming We Are Radar - a club night that found home in Szpitalna 1, where Olivia keeps its spirit alive together with her brother Kinzo Chrome and boyfriend Chino. The parties showcase a broad range of techno and house sounds, from her beloved 80s classics from Detroit, as well as electro through to heavy acid to mellow synth melodicism. This collective also gives the best chance in Kraków to hear DJs and producers releasing on L.I.E.S., Uncanny Valley or Creme. Olivia has also been an Unsound Kraków resident since 2013 and this year also played New York, Toronto and Batumi to fantastic reviews. 2017 looks bright with her inclusion on the new SHAPE platform roster and those Euro dates appearing more and more often in her calendar.

The mix Olivia has submitted to ‘Electronic Explorations Polish Special’ showcases her more playful and eclectic side. It's not too fast and has a delightfully creepy October vibe to it, using all the elements that make her sets click - big synth melodies, splashes of acid, electro rhythms and those little weird moments like that Black Dice track. It's not the stuff she used to slay when I saw her in Malmo, but it gives you a great idea how good and diverse DJ she is.

We have a close-knit community of Bristol-based producers to thank for one of the 2010’s most distinct movements in electronic music, and few rep the city as hard as Kahn. Emerging around the start of the decade with releases on Peverelist’s Punch Drunk, Idle Hands and Mala’s Deep Medi, he’d go on to form a dancefloor-destroying partnership with Neek as well as the visionary Young Echo collective. His productions drift across the murky waters between dubstep and grime, channelling roots and soundsystem culture. With Neek, he runs labels Bandulu and Hotline, the latter emulating old-school heuristics where you’d ring a phone number to hear new releases over the line to order. This month, the Young Echo crew will self-release their second, self-titled LP of squad selections, as picked out by the man himself.

For our 203rd Truancy Volume, Kahn has pretty much immortalised the lingering spectre of this dark winter. “I wanted it to be different from anything I’ve put together before, more personal perhaps,” he says of the mix, which connects the dots between the likes of Sisters of Mercy, Pharmakon, Orphyx and Omar Souleyman. It’s a staggering, foreboding collection of unexpected selections that simultaneously come across as natural and cohesive choices orbiting the Kahn sound. Short bio:
VTSS is a Warsaw-based DJ and live performer. She is a resident of an infamous label/party Brutaż and a co-founder of Oramics - project aiming to empower women in electronic music. In her expressive DJ sets and raw distorted live acts she oscillates around techno, EBM, industrial and experimental music. Her other project - Try - premiered at 2017 Unsound Festival contains inspirations from both folk and 80s industrial.

Select Cuts 136: Mia Mendi

The biggest, most badass love goes out to Sam KDC who has gifted us with an absolutely astounding podcast (#064) ahead of his On the 5th Day appearance at Corsica Studios on September 1st. If you’ve been an avid collector of game-changing, quality techno and experimental over recent years then you’ll most likely know the score. Sam KDC (aka Samuel Wood) is a devoted boundary pusher within the electronic music field, producing since 2002 and making his own solid and hugely significant mark during the years that followed. Working closely alongside fellow musician ASC (James Clements), Sam KDC played a critical role in shaping the revolutionary vision of ASC’s Auxiliary label, contributing a multitude of releases along the way, helping to ensure it became the go to for deep, “outside the box” techno that it is today. He and ASC are also the pioneers behind the unique style that inspired Grey Area, a label collaboration between Samurai and Auxiliary, uniting 128 bpm with 170/85 bpm in a seamless, polyrhythmic, big impact manner.

As demonstrated herewith, Sam KDC’s mind-bending approach to techno and experimental, and the characteristics and complexities of his style - with its multiple BPMs and dynamic, shifting hearty pulse - culminate in an almighty rhythmic hurricane fuelled by a strong emotional power, sweeping you through mountainous peaks and caverns before releasing you in a breathless heap on the floor! His meticulously controlled sets, vibrating with depth and tension make it impossible to turn your attention elsewhere… and the good news is there’s plenty more where this came from when Sam is united with Corsica’s better than ever almighty sound system on September 1st. This time we invited another Polish hero - Olivia.

BIO:
Known to many as one of Unsound’s resident DJs, Olivia has been one of the key figures of the Kraków club scene for the past 14 years.
The originator of the fabled Kraków club night – We Are Radar – conceived and orchestrated with her confrère Chino, Olivia remains fully committed to growing the local scene – as a member of the Radar collective, resident and main booker for Szpitalna 1 – Kraków’s leading underground club space, one half of DJ duo Chrono Bross.

Recenlty, together with collaborators Chino and Steffen Bennemann, Olivia has launched a hybrid live/DJ performance project Morskie Oko.

Her reputation has steadily amplified over the years thanks to her idiosyncratic track selection and excellent technical skills. Through raw and dark techno, liquid acid, deep cosmic reaches, the simplicity of electro and the warmth of house, her sets shine with originality and a strong belief in the sound she delivers.

She draws inspiration from both music and the world around her – from the future shock of Detroit techno, via the distinctive Dutch sound, ebm, industrial, cold wave, acid, electro, synth and house, through to the images and ideals of science fiction and technological progression. The infinity of space, the unfulfilled promises of robot designs and the unexplained mysteries of paranormal phenomena all inform her approach to music and her search for sound.

BIO:
St Petersburg resident Ivan Karasev aka Torn is the first Russian artist to be signed to Samurai Music. Primarily working in the 170bpm tempo, Torn has grown into one of the most promising talents in underground drum and bass.

Debuting on Samurai sister label Shiro in 2017, Torn now releases his first EP (Internal) for the Samurai Music label in 2018. The Internal EP sees his sculpted malaise reaching a creative peak, completing construction on a distinctive desolation he now inhabits like a second skin. 

Ivan’s talent is not limited to the 170bpm tempo. He also produces future facing polyrhythmic Techno which has been heavily supported in the sets of Sam KDC and Presha. 

2019 will see Torn release on Horo, where his Techno productions will be presented in a release format for the first time.
