Lost In Ether | P R E M I E R E | Hybral - Das Schloss [Subverted]

Monolithic beats, crunched textures, and an infernal biophony compose Hybral's EP "Vor dem Gesetz". Combining eerie ambient with punitive raw techno and screeching industrial elements, Hybral strings together a dark musical tale that immerses listeners in a treacherous journey through the purgatorial process, in which promised redemption turns into eternal damnation. 

Through an industrial techno re-interpretation of Kafka's writings—with each track inspired by and named after one of the author's works—, Hybral expresses their own feelings of anger, anxiety, fear, tension, insecurity, alienation, and pain while navigating the seemingly hopeless battle for the preservation of Berlin queer nightlife and their own livelihood.

Long removed from electronic music, punk and
metal are the major influences of Opäk.
Noticed for his energy on stage and his ability to
play, he becomes resident of the Parisian
collective, Newtrack and co-founded the label
Askorn Records.
An artist with a resolutely rock universe, he covers
a broad musical spectrum. From EBM to
hardcore, acid to industrial break, he plays on
musical blends combining rock, rap, metal to
powerful kicks, bewitching melodies tinged with
industrial textures.
After sharing decks with Blawan, Rebekah, The
horrorist, Randomer, Anetha ... He receives
support from emblematic producers such as Paula
Temple, Parrish Smith or Kenny Campbell on his
productions. In 2020 he founded the Opäk & the
Seelen Zieher project» offering a 3-dimensional
work combining dance, Vjing and music. A dark
and poetic universe to discover on stage.

Balrog’s debut album, “The Northern Powerhouse” is composed of 8 hard-hitting techno tracks, focusing on heavy, groove-ridden drums, driving basslines and obscure, distorted vocals. His tracks take influence from classic, hard-grooving techno but with a fresh injection of modern, industrial power. The framework for the tracks was developed in the midst of the fallout from the UK leaving the EU and the numerous attempts to “level up” the north of the country through The Northern Powerhouse scheme, from which the album derives its name. Conceptually, the album is an attempt from the artist to dissociate himself from Brexit and the conservative government which has consistently stigmatised the most vulnerable in UK society and spread lies on an industrial scale in order to push forward their agenda. Through the album, a series of linked tracks mirror the raw divisions in society, not just between The North and The South of the UK, but also more widely representing divisions throughout the world. As the album develops, a more hopeful outcome is suggested, seeing the culture of underground music as having the potential to build connections and incite resistance in an increasingly divided world.
