PREMIERE | inf3ris X Epifanix - Layers Of Underground [COUP033]

Vienna’s DLV is fast becoming one of Hard Techno’s most exciting prospects, owing to releases on some of Techno’s most respected stables, including EXHALE, OUTWORLD and VOXNOX, among others. Continuing an impressive run of form - DLV’s latest work is a blistering two-track EP titled “Sinnerman”, set for self-release on 24th November. Once again highlighting DLV’s innate propensity for vigorous Hardgroove and thumping Hard Techno slammers, his “Sinnerman” EP strives to make a bold statement of intent as DLV looks to further solidify himself as one of the genre’s next wave of pioneers.

Kicking things off with the title cut, “Sinnerman” brings about an expected onslaught of hammering drum work, racy industrial percussion, and pulsating musicality. Riding a wave of ominous pads, rave synths, rippling arps and a catchy vocal hook, “Sinnerman” confidently presents itself as a showstopping peak-time monster.

“Angel Of Death” completes the EP with more signature DLV flavours, carving out a weighty tirade of flippant acid-tinged grooves and mind-bending melodics from the outset. An undeniably hair-raising affair, running a gauntlet of intensity through breakneck drops and sharpened atmospheric troughs, the aptly named “Angel Of Death” is the harbinger of all things dark and pleasantly demonic that envelop the vampiric aesthetic of contemporary Hard Techno.

As the world witnesses the horrors of war and its devastating impact on innocent lives, it's imperative to raise our voices against injustice wherever it occurs. It is our duty, especially being artists, to raise consciousness and awareness, challenge norms and narratives. We cannot allow ourselves to overlook the ongoing crisis in Palestine. This is not merely a matter of political stance; it's a test of our humanity. If we fail to speak out against the slaughter of innocent people and the genocide unfolding in Palestine, we fail on fundamental levels of compassion and justice. It's not about political affiliations; it's about standing on the righteous side and feeling the pulse of what's truly just. With the power of technology, we are constantly connected to the realities of conflict, yet to stay silence in the face of such atrocities is deadly. For that reason we brought 61 artists together to break this silence and stand in solidarity with Palestine, especially the innocent children. Each beat, each note is a testament to resilience, a defiance against the oppressors, a symphony of solidarity resonating across borders. Techno, Noise, EBM, punk, and experimental music—genres rooted in the ethos of creating alternate societies and challenging terrestrial limitations—have always championed freedom of expression. Yet, the contemporary landscape feels tainted by commodification, censorship, and the silencing of marginalized voices. This betrayal of the essence cannot be tolerated. Our music is a rebellion, a revolution of sound, breaking chains of apathy and indifference, igniting flames of empathy and action.We are not just musicians; we are storytellers of the silenced, architects of dreams, weaving melodies of resistance and resilience. Solidarity must be a foundational principle within our (sub-)culture. True freedom can only be achieved when all are liberated. Lost In Ether | P R E M I E R E | Mogano - Echo Chambers [Lethal Curse]

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Mogano. "Neon Eclipse" comes off the new v/a, TERRA MALEDICTA, forthcoming on Portuguese imprint Rapture. The release is the first in a series of four albums that evoke the elements of a cursed and putrefied planet, in a time when the future appears uncertain and the world as we know it approaches an abyss. "Neon Eclipse" from Mogano is one of 6 tracks in the new Rapture VA, which will feature also artists such as Kara Konchar, Nghtly, Punshukunshu, Revolt and Ruben Seoane in another compilation where the aesthetics of obscurantism serve as the guiding theme to mesmerize listeners.

"Neon Eclipse" delivers a chest-destroyer kick and a half-tempo feel suggested by a noisy snare negotiate the available spectrum with the incoming waveshaped synth. Its movement is infectious and becomes tridimensional when other atmospheric elements play around it.

The Emergence LP is just a small part of a larger audio-visual project, with many pieces of music that feature in the live shows but not on the album. Panned is a track that came from experiments with live surround sound shows where I use 6 or more channels to create spatial forms for each piece of music. I wanted to bring this experience to a stereo format, so I created a track with every element hard panned, with some extreme sounds to enforce the effect. 

The track is also built around some experiments with looping audio through analogue pedals - distortion, ring mod and delay. I had a lot of fun pushing the limits and making them squeal in a heavy sort of way, which lent itself to this intense form of track. (I also used some of the results in Trust, in a more subtle form).

That intensity was something which seemed a better fit for Joe than the normal album tracks, and I love his work and was keen to get him involved with the project, so we jumped in with a remix of Panned.

We know it. You know it. Alignment is here to stay. Delivering the next round of high quality tracks on vinyl for VN043, his „Orderly Chaos“ EP mirrors our suspicious times like nothing else but techno can. 

With its main title „Orderly Chaos“ consisting of well balanced leads chasing a never ending drum programming, the consistent kick drum does what its used to do: thumping your already vibrating stomach. An early classic already, with a reasoned arrangement attached. 

We’re about to enter quicker territories on A2 by the name of „Future Dancefloor“. Clearly focussed on satisfying the biggest sound systems around, once possible again. For the time being, a forward moving rhythm infiltrates small vocal hits on this one, piercing the perfect state of rave. 

„Into The Unknown“ follows this mantra perfectly. Detailed synth placements evolve a steadily riding hi-hat shuffle, incorporating the flowing drumming which comes with it. On top of it, energising pad lines do their thing in catching us during a perfect breakdown. 

Second b-side flip is „Dark Space“, with the name saying it all. A distinctively darker sound atmosphere is paired with modulated patterns, systematically pushing the groove underneath. It’s a next stage of production class, with harmonic elements driving one’s imagination further. A perfect closing for your next, physical music purchase.
