Overview:

Sonic EP is the second contribution of Sawf to the Modal Analysis catalogue.
The Greek producer, and core member of the Modal Analysis roster, delivers a mind-blowing 4-tracker with a clear intention to interpret an industrial-noise aesthetic from a techno perspective. Sonic#1 is a cut from the intro of Sawf’s LIVE set, offering a powerful combo of processed vocals and distorted soundscapes. Sonic#2 comes as a long and stepping beast that creates the uncomfortable feeling of a horror movie soundtrack. On the B side; Sonic#3 blends blurry vocals with rhythmic industrial elements on a breath-taking bass-line, while Sonic#4 presents Sawf’s charisma on impro-noise compositions.
*Sonic#4 was recorded at ‘Sonic Shelter Studios’ in Athens.

Our 10th podcast features Slyrs, a young french artist whose productions were released on upcoming labels such as Messe Noire, Wrongontes, Kolkoz and Grounded. For the fourth edition of KHIDI Podcast, we invite our resident artist Phase Fatale. Originally from New York, Hayden Payne has moved to Berlin and since 2013 has been at the forefront of industrial techno scene. Over the last few years, he released music on many renowned platforms, such as aufnahme + wiedergabe, Hospital Productions, Jealous God, Unterton among others. In 2018, he co-founded the label BITE, designed to present other artists who operate beyond the borders of the common preconceptions of techno. A collaborative EP between Phase Fatale and Silent Servant kickstarts the label.
In the mix, he once again underlines main influences of the project and does so by using the latest tracks from Ancient Methods, Vatican Shadow, Silent Servant, himself and other flag-bearers of the modern-day industrial scene.

Under the prominent alias of A.Morgan, Alex Morgan showcases Manchester’s local talent with the latest powerful addition to our ABYSS Presents mix series.

In true British style – but also synonymous with a broader dynamic in the Techno scene across the globe, the origins of his admiration of Techno are buried deep within the Trance community. As is often the case with local talent here in Manchester, Alex’s introduction to music began at a young age and outside his now home genre of Techno.

Starting his introduction into his current sector of the industry, he began with a digital release on Dutch record label Dynamic Reflection entitled ‘Refracted Landscapes’ back in March 2015...

OPERANT’s live shows are a collision between the body and machines, encompassing gestural noise, mic'd metal fragments, synths, drum machines and dual vocals distorted to the point of surreality.
