You feel that? That’s Ed Hoffman and Barbara conjuring a quake to make your booty shake! Their track Queen B is a high octane, powerful celebration of booty shaking self-love and expression. Backed with Ed’s acid hits and enticing vocalization from Barbara, this combo packs the kind of heat that could make the sun blush.

Firing on all cylinders, this collaboration’s creation came from the silly, playful, anything goes environment that their studio session brought forth. Built on the sassy riffing and fun-loving energy in the room and bolstered by blistering kicks and drums, Queen B makes its strong statement for driving electro royalty.

Boston born Barbara is the epitome of modern talent. She’s not only a house DJ but also a pop singer-songwriter and producer. She possesses 3 superpowers: knowing a good beat, crafting super catchy pop hooks, and spreading joy with her music & positive personality. After years spinning at clubs (Black Flamingo, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, 1015 Folsom) and parties (Daybreaker, Google I/O, Burning Man) she created her first album, Palm Dreams, over 2 intense weeks in the fall of 2022, putting hundreds of voice memos, laptop productions, and many nights of raving to good use. If you’ve seen Barbara live, she’s all gas and no brakes. She’s a bonafide one to watch for 2024.

While diverse in his repertoire, Ed’s sound is grounded in his ability to bring his distinct flavor of energy to each track he writes, harnessing unmistakable childlike energy that evokes equal parts self-confidence and silliness. It’s that liberating feeling you get when you’ve released yourself from the shackles of expectations, and being able to express your true, inner colors without fear of judgment. For the San Francisco-based DJ/Producer, community is half of the equation, and what drives him to inspire and help as many future artists to also pursue their dreams. Ed has released music on Fantastic Voyage, Data Transmission, OFDM, Bomb Ass House, Schmuzik Records and Wildcard Records. He also runs a monthly radio show, which is syndicated on Data Transmission, called ‘House of Ed’.

Queen B is a whole different beast and if you feel the sudden urge to twerk, you can’t say you haven’t been warned.

Newcomers to the label but familiar faces nonetheless, OFTK and Ema Sakura team up for a bouncy-euphoric, acid infused stepper that seamlessly blends multiple styles into one beautiful blossoming track, aptly named Bloom. Both artists bring their own unique approaches to building this auditory art together and, in doing so, present a marvelous mixture of sounds that compliment each other tremendously. 

Bloom stems from OFTK and Ema Sakura’s collection of bizarre vocal samples and a desire to create an acidic breakbeat track. Like a lotus flower, the track blossomed amidst a flood of countless titles and backstories — none of which make any sense. The end product reflects this flowering of sorts…

Ryan Valenzuela aka OFTK (One For The Kids) is a Los Angeles, CA based music producer & DJ whose musicality ranges anywhere from melodic deep and progressive, to house and techno, to Jersey bounce and breaks – taking inspiration from a multitude of artists including Kaskade, Porter Robinson, Spencer Brown, R3LL, Anna Lunoe, Sam Gellaitry, & the Soulection crew (to name a few). Behind the decks, OFTK’s open-format style and tasteful curation form sets that fluidly bends genres with the aim to move dance floors and engage listeners to be one with the music…because this music is one for the kids.

Ema Sakura is a music producer and classically trained musician from San Francisco, California. With a strong foundation as an upright bassist, Ema studied music at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, specializing in bass performance, and has performed professionally with various orchestras and ensembles throughout California. Since completing her studies in 2018, Ema has ventured beyond her classical roots, pursuing music production and DJing. Ema's compositions feature ethereal vocals, Japanese nostalgia, and dreamy atmospheres, as well as melodic and harmonic elements that pay homage to her classical background. Through her music, she invites listeners into her world of inspiration as she weaves a tapestry that juxtaposes darkness and beauty.

In a merging of darkness, light and every shade in between, the combined forces that are Ema Sakura and OFTK bring us a powerful statement piece that’s sure to just be the beginning of their journey in Bloom.
