There are few that can say they were there when the acid house boom fully erupted in the early nineties, most artists have a very short career span and many ride the wave that they have caught until it reaches fruition, then pack up their headphones and return to their everyday life.  But there are a small handful of artists whom never seem to disappear, these few, are the true soldiers of sound, the ones that no matter how hard things get, and how tough the hills are to climb, they always manage to stay on their path whilst others fall by the wayside.

London born & Bred Carl Nicholson is without doubt one of these people, Carl started his journey way back in 1990 as an Hardcore MC, and after months of watching top end DJ’s at the time such as Micky Finn & Carl Cox, Carl decided to see what all the hype was about and give it a shot himself, and after 6 gruelling months of his very own brand of ‘Wild Horses’ mixing, Carl got a feel for it and the rest as they say is history.

In the summer of 1994, Carl came across a tape, a tape that was to change his life forever, this tape was the Tony de Vit mix on the massively popular ‘Retrospective of House’ compilation by Fantazia, and Carl simply could not believe his ears.  From that day forward Carl lived, ate, and slept all things TdV, he used to follow him around London whenever he was playing, find a good spot near the decks and just stand, watch and listen.

After about 6 months, Carl finally got the courage up to speak to Tony, and bear in mind to Carl, Tony was a musical God of monstrous proportions, so this was no easy task to say the least, but after a few minutes of chatting with him, Carl realised that this man was just like any other guy, he wasn’t a god, he was a normal friendly bloke who had just happened to be in the right place at the right time, and that gave Carl a confidence, something he had lacked in early years, and it dawned on him that with hard work, dedication and a burning passion for the music and the people it attracted, anything was possible.

Since 1995 Carl has been on the forefront of the UK Underground dance scene, he began his journey living in a doorway in the west end of London, learnt his craft from the undisputed king of Hard House, Tony de Vit.  He’s played alongside everyone from Fatboy Slim, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Frankie Knuckles & Chemical Brothers to Judge Jules, John ‘OO’ Fleming, Paul Van Dyk & Lisa Lashes for virtually every major hard edged brand and festival in the UK & Worldwide including Cream, Judgement Sundays, Frantic, Fevah, Glastonbury Festival, Insomniacz, Bulldog Bash, Miss Moneypennys, Soundscape (NZ), B2T, Traxx (SA), Timeless, Hard Dance Ibiza (IBZ), Sundissential, Trance port Festival (ARG), Round Bass (NL) & Tasty to name only a handful, plus he is the only Hard Dance DJ to have received a residency at the world famous Fabric nightclub in London for DTPM.

My journey into Techno began in the late 1990s.
Back then, I spent countless nights in legendary Berlin clubs like Tresor, the old Casino, the new Casino, and later the Reinbeck Halls in Schöneweide – and of course my beloved MagicGate in Hennigsdorf, which unfortunately no longer exists today.

We danced until the early morning hours, and already on the dance floor I realized my deep passion for techno music and the art of DJing.

In early 2001, a friend introduced me to a music program called Fruity Loops. That moment changed everything.
I began creating my own beats, and my enthusiasm grew rapidly. In 2002, I bought my first hardware – a Roland Groovebox 505 and a sampler.

After years of experimenting and learning, it was finally time:
In 2004, I had my first live act performance at the legendary Techno Club Metronome.

For personal reasons, I took a break from performing for several years, but I never lost sight of techno.
After visiting clubs like the iconic Berghain, a new fire ignited within me. Around 2009, I started producing again – this time with Ableton Live and Reason, using multiple MIDI controllers.

My tracks started to sound more and more professional, and I built my own private studio to focus fully on producing.
From 2010 onwards, I dedicated myself entirely to techno music.
Soon after, the first labels noticed my work – and a dream came true: my music was officially released on various techno labels.

Since 2017, I have been producing under the name NeoPlastika – a creative collaboration between my friend oneDESCRIPTION and myself.
Together, we stand for Pure Techno – deep, driving, and straight from the soul.

Meine Reise in die Welt des Techno begann Ende der 1990er-Jahre.
Damals verbrachte ich unzählige Nächte in legendären Berliner Clubs wie dem Tresor, dem alten Casino, dem neuen Casino und später in den Reinbeck-Hallen in Schöneweide – und natürlich in meinem geliebten MagicGate in Hennigsdorf, das es leider heute nicht mehr gibt.

Wir tanzten bis in die frühen Morgenstunden, und schon auf der Tanzfläche wurde mir klar, wie tief meine Leidenschaft für Techno-Musik und für DJs wirklich ist.

Anfang 2001 zeigte mir ein Freund ein Musikprogramm namens Fruity Loops – und ab diesem Moment nahm alles seinen Lauf.
Ich begann, meine eigenen Beats zu kreieren, und meine Begeisterung wuchs stetig. 2002 kaufte ich mir schließlich meine erste Hardware – eine Roland Groovebox 505 und einen Sampler.

Nach einigen Jahren des Experimentierens und Lernens war es soweit:
Im Jahr 2004 hatte ich meinen ersten Live-Auftritt im legendären Techno-Club Metronom.

Aus privaten Gründen legte ich anschließend eine längere Pause ein – den Techno selbst habe ich jedoch nie aus den Augen verloren.
Nach weiteren Clubbesuchen, unter anderem im ikonischen Berghain, entflammte erneut ein Feuer in mir.
So begann ich ab 2009 wieder zu produzieren – diesmal mit Ableton Live und Reason, gesteuert über mehrere MIDI-Controller.

Meine Tracks klangen immer professioneller, und ich richtete mir schließlich ein eigenes Musikstudio ein, um mich voll auf das Produzieren konzentrieren zu können.
Ab 2010 widmete ich mich komplett der elektronischen Musik. Bald wurden die ersten Labels auf mich aufmerksam – und ein Traum ging in Erfüllung:
Ich konnte meine Musik auf verschiedenen Techno-Labels veröffentlichen.

Seit 2017 produziere ich unter dem Namen NeoPlastika – einer kreativen Fusion aus meinem Freund oneDESCRIPTION und mir.
Gemeinsam stehen wir für Pure Techno – tief, treibend und direkt aus der Seele.

Sus inicios en la música se dieron en la adolescencia tocando distintos instrumentos en bandas de rock, pasando por el conservatorio de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, hasta encontrar el amor por las percusiones y finalmente, dedicándose a tiempo completo en la batería.
Sus principales influyentes fueron bandas de rock progresivo como Pink Floyd, Yes, Genesis o Jethro Tull, y bandas de hard rock como Led Zeppelin, Cream o Deep Purple, entre otras.
Mas adelante conocería la música electrónica y su amor por el progressive y el deep y melodic house.
Sus principales influyentes en la actualidad son artistas como Hernan Cattaneo, Sebastian Busto, Fernando Ferreyra, Ezequiel Arias, Dmitry Molosh, Alex O'Rion y muchos mas.
Su estilo preferido es el progressive, intentando lograr en sus mezclas pasajes muy delicados y suaves, para asi lograr sets con buena continuidad y groove.
