Mark Cook is a singer songwriter from the Isle of Wight, a place steeped in musical history.  He has quietly been writing songs for several years, however in 2012 he felt it was the right time to start performing his original music around the Isle of Wight.  Mark can now be found performing in many of the Isle of Wight pubs and music venues.  In addition to the local music scene Mark has also performed at weddings and private functions.
Whilst Mark covers some well known songs from days gone by to current classics, his passion lies in performing his original material.  Mark’s lyrics are based upon real life experiences, and his lyrics and performance are full of emotion that the audience clearly relate to.
Mark states that “the biggest buzz for me is when someone comes up to you after a gig and tells you that your song has moved them. I write for myself, it’s a way of expressing my thoughts and feelings; it’s a very selfish process.  Sometimes people make assumptions of what my songs are about but just because that’s the way they relate to the song does not mean that’s what I was writing about or how it is for me.  That’s the beauty of song writing, one song can be heard by hundred people and have a hundred different meanings.”
