This song is about my relationship with music since I came out of the womb. Bff's 4 lyf!! I have a vague memory of getting up in front of my school at my Eisteddfod to sing a Welsh song 'Hero, Heno' and I must have been about 4/5/6?? Anyway. I got up with a doll, sat in a rocking chair and sang my heart out. It was never a conscious decision to like singing or want to sing, it was just there. I was obsessed with voices growing up and studied Whitney Houston like I was sitting some kind of exam. I loved the versatility of voices, power, fragility. Every single emotion conveyed and passed from their vocal cords, straight to my heart and soul and making me feel every range of emotion possible. It is without doubt the most reliable thing I have in my life in so far as I know exactly what I'm gonna get. An emotional rollercoaster ride and I am here for it. Music is the place I go to celebrate, mourn, meditate, relax, wind up. And it never fails me. Bff's 4 lyf.

2007 Mix

So I started writing songs a couple of years back with the vision of being super creative, DIY artist that could just create, learn, grow and get better and release as and when. However somewhere along the line it all became about social media and other stuff that doesn’t really set me alight and has kind of taken me away from creating as much. Sooooooo….In a quest to reclaim my joy I am now gonna write, record, produce, create the artwork for my little songs as and when and how I want and upload them here. My aim is to use Soundcloud as a spot to upload things that aren’t quite release ready/no intention of releasing/ideas/snippets of songs/lo-fi. An accountability partner, possibly? A journal of my journey, maybe? A soundboard even. All I know is that if I don’t get back to the thing that I love, which is creating then I’ll end up jacking the whole thing in and working in a bank or something equally as dull. HELP ME AVOID THE DULL :-)
