Composé de quatre copains musiciens, Kawan nous plonge dans ses influences artistiques en mêlant la chanson française au reggae/roots jamaicain.

JBC started to get into music at an early age learning the cello, guitar and piano. Between 2003 and 2007, JBC became part of a few bands of various music styles (Rock/Pop/Jazz/Reggae/Soul) playing the bass, guitar, keys and vocals. From 2007, he plays aside Samuel B. (Pop/Folk) performing for concerts and participating to the recordings of his second album. His passion for a cappella music made him integrate egregor vocal, participate to a lot of festivals [...] and start to transcript tracks from famous groups Take 6, The Hi-Lo’s, The Real Group… which fast became appreciated by a capella music enthusiasts. In the meantime, JB graduated from the University of Poitiers with a Bachelor of Music in Musicology and from two conservatories in musical writing & jazz. He started to get a name around the globe with his transcriptions and with his a cappella multitracks videos posted on YouTube showing his unique range and arrangement skills. He was featured on French version of X-Factor with a cappella ensemble egregor vocal in 2009. In 2010, he was invited to participate to the Swingle Swingers’ final recruitment competition in London.

Débute son parcours musical par l'étude du violoncelle, de la guitare et du piano à l'école de musique de Challans (1993-2004). Entre 2003 et 2007, il devient bassiste et chanteur au sein de plusieurs formations : Baobab Ribus (Soul/Funk), Oniz (Rock prog.)… Depuis 2007 il joue aux côtés de Samuel B. (pop/folk). Passionné par le chant a cappella, il intègre la même année egregor vocal, participe à de nombreux festivals (Les traversées de Noirlac, Festival de la voix de Châteauroux...) et fait de nombreux relevés (Take 6, The Hi-Lo’s...) qui sont rapidement appréciés aux quatre coins du globe. Après l'obtention en 2008 d'une licence de musicologie mention bien à l’université de Poitiers, d'un CEM d'écriture et de FMG au CRR de Poitiers, il obtient son DEM de jazz (CRR de Tours) en juin 2011 avec le prix SACEM pour ses compositions dans Daybreak Quintet. En Août 2010, il est finaliste au concours de recrutement de ténor des Swingle Singers à Londres. 
On peut actuellement le voir aux côtés de The Ones (basse/choeurs/claviers), Allr!!!ght (chant) et dernièrement Accent, groupe a cappella international virtuel.
