Louie G's end of the year mix - December 2014

Hey folks,

Here's my latest mix that I recorded this week. This one's quite slow and melodic compared to my normal sound. Still funky, ofcourse ;)

My (new) monitorspeakers were acting up a little with random hisses and plops, so it's a bit rough on the edges here and there but nevertheless I'd appreciate it if you gave it a listen! (The kitty would appreciate it as well!)

Hi there folks, summery greetings from the Netherlands!

Inspired by the weather I decided to hit the decks and fueled by the energy of a thousand suns (well, just one to be honest) I fused together this fine selection of old and new tunes for your mind and body to enjoy.

LouieG's UG House Sessions Fall 2015

Hey there people, join me on some crate diggin' y'all! 

Today I decided to delve into my grand collection of CD's that are mostly collecting dust nowadays, to dig out some tunes I really appreciate and don't have available on my trustworthy USB sticks yet ;)

This is kind of a grab bag again of somewhat older tunes, hope you'll dig it (pun intended!). Contains Loopity Goofs, Leon Louder, Mastiksoul, Demarkus Lewis, David Glass, and more...  This is the first edition, I think I'll do some more digging around whenever I feel like it

LouieG - Crate Digging 01 (december 2015)

Hey folks!

Let me take you back into my past... I present to you a mix I recorded in may 2004! I was spinning tunes for about two years around that time. Still a pretty solid mix if you ask me, it's obvious my style evolved somewhat but that unmistaken, authentic and original "Louie G" sound is there, let me assure you of that! ;)

 It was recorded on tape so in the middle there's a small segment missing...  Let me close this message with saying this mix definitely needs more cowbell!

LouieG Phunky Houze 11th May 2004

Hi there, folks! Don't worry, I'm still alive and doing more mixing than ever, but everytime I forget to record the sessions...

So with that being said, yesterday I finally recorded a session again with some fresh and funky tracks, for your mind and body to enjoy! It's short and sweet with only 50 minutes of beats, but I'm cutting straight to the action right from the start. It's a blend between funky and deep, with some tech-ish tracks sprinkled in between :) As usual, the mix is heavily Robsoul influenced, with tracks from Phil Weeks, Chris Carrier, Yakine, and more! 

I like giving comments but also like to get em , so don't hesitate to share your thoughts or track-id inquiries :)

LouieG's Underground Summer Sessions - Underground House - June 2016

I've been listening to house since 1996 and spinning all kinds ofhouse since 2002. That means I'm almost spinning for a decade! Nice :) Still loving it!
I'm also known as "Boxers" from the DJ duo "Sox and Boxers" (check out http://soundcloud.com/SoxAndBoxers). 

I love to create smooth mixes in terms of trackselection and like my mixes to have a natural sounding flow. Mixing two tracks for 2 or 3 minutes or more is more of a habit than a coincedence. That can be a problem if you need to go the bathroom during a set ;)

My styles: underground house, chicago house, jazzy swing house, a little sniff of tech/groovy minimal/robothouse and occasionnaly I'll throw in some jackin house

Favourite label: Robsoul!

I also like hiphop and turntablism, but don't mix it myself.

Usual gear: 2x CDJ100S, 1x Dateq XTC, 1 Yamaha amplifier, 1 scrawny monitor speaker, and a PC with a SB Audigy to record the goodness.

I recently bought some oldskool hardware to start producing, hope it'll sound better than my Fasttracker 2 productions from10+ years ago ;)
