I went on a sound walk today in the north lanes of brighton and this is the result. From this process, I have learnt that for such windy outdoor conditions, an AKG mic is not the best for picking up sound, and that a K6 with a windshield/dougall would have been more appropriate as it would produce a better sound quality. Also, the K6 is directional and so could have picked on certain sounds that I wished to highlight. I tried to reduce the wind noise in this audio clip, however I was not able to as I'm currently not too familiar with adobe audition. I did, however, cut out the beginning and end section which held little to no useful or exciting sound. I also used the fade out tool towards the end. This clip is interesting as it captures music from shops, parts of conversations, seagull noises, shop bells, and general other noises that could help the listener to build a vague image of the lanes.

This is a sound walk that myself and Matthew conducted whilst on campus at university. We used an AKG microphone to document the sounds of the supermarket, and the road outside it. This clip has not been edited.

Lesson sound walk

This was another experiment that myself and Matthew conducted, once again with an AKG mic. This has also not been edited. I particularly like this one for capturing snippets of peoples conversations. This was recorded outside/inside of east slope bar and around east slope accommodation

This is a 2nd attempt with the k6 microphone. This was recorded in the arts block and is quite uneventful in terms of sound.
