I started playing guitar at age 7 and a few years after that tried my hand at keyboards, then played keyboards in a 5 piece band at age 13,a year after that I crawled my way back to guitar and became the lead singer for the band Ladds, my passion for gigging has never subsided and hence I still try my best to gig 3 to 4 times per week.I gigged for 15 years with my bass guitarist, Riaan Truter, 7 years in Ladds and 8 years as Nightshift. I packed it in at age 29 as family demands took priority then, played again in 96 and 97 with the rock band Cannon, packed it up AGAIN after 2 years. I played solo from 1998 to August 2011 when Andy D'Alton joined me on lead guitar, so most of the lead work on my tracks is done by Andy except for on "Sugar Coated" and "Lied Vir Die Wind" where I did all the guitars. I started writing my own material 3 years ago,hence the few humble attempts that you can now listen to and hopefully you'll enjoy them! I now have a duo "Slip-Jam" with the "Fender Bender" Andy D'Alton and we have a 6 piece band named "Slip-Jam" the Band. More than anything else this is our drug of choice, and we do it as often as we possibly can, we love our work and it truly is a blessing for us to be able to work this as often as we do!

Multiple International-Award winning ,Knysna, and South-African, Singer-Songwriter / Multi-Instramentalist, Pierre started his music career at the age of twelve ,when his old man bought him a set of drums.He started playing guitar at the age of 16. 
A shooting accident during military service in 1 Parachute Bn(shot by a friend) almost ended his drumming hopes as four bullets ripped through his right-hand/wrist and right shoulder, leaving him with a permanent 50% disabilitiy of his right.

That did not stop him from pursuing his music-goals.
 Pierre Opperman, recently received his third international music award accreditation, in December 2020 , when his entry "Lady" secured fifth spot on the Museboat Musies Awards list of the channel's most popular songs in the past 10 years.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Museboat Live,announced the top 100 songs from the past decade, as voted for by listeners at their anniversary Gala.
In 2017 Pierre's song "Come Alive" won a bronze medallion at the Global Music Awards and in 2011 Pierre was awarded the "Best New Artist Award" on Pirate Radio of The Treasure Coast,Florida,USA's 2011 Rock Star Contest,and Music Treasure Hunt,..with one of his his songs entered, "Runaway" having received 4.5 million votes from 75 countries,and 40 networks,making it one of the most-voted for songs in the contest!
