With Eric Harland's Voyager paying tribute to Gil Scott-Heron on Saturday, January 9th at SFJAZZ Center, I put together a mix featuring classic recordings by the legendary poet/vocalist/musician. Many of these tracks were co-written and produced with multi-instrumentalist and long time music counterpart Brian Jackson, who will perform alongside Voyager at the January 9th tribute concert.
