Before we put out our first official release on Acidtourism, the "Acid Tourist" insists we take you on a little detour and visit some re-imaginations that we have been working on these past years. We will start this side-expedition of the musical kind and travel back to my homeland, Iceland, with an artist that has been an inspiration through the years, Björk,  and an homage to her song "Always Full of Love.” 

Toward the end of the pandemic, I had the pleasure of working in the studio with my Brother, @RohanAlyan, at his Modern Art Theory gallery in Miami.

Together, we captured its essence and redressed it into a serious peak-time banger.

FISH HOUSE FUNK aka John Kim (they/them) is a DJ & dance floor diva.  Based out of Washington DC, John's passion for disco, house, and funky beat takes influence from the many years in the club mixed with a love for community to create a sound that pays homage to the roots of house music & queer joy. 

The name Fish House Funk carry’s on the legacy of John’s grandparents, two Korean immigrants who moved to the US in the early 70s. With a crazy dream, they opened up a seafood carry out restaurant in 1981 called Potomac Fish House right outside Washington DC -  and is still in business 43 years later. 

 Their legacy lives on in Fish House Funk forever.

With just over 2 years in the game, DJing at various parties & clubs in DC & NYC, John is growing their skills as a DJ and party producer. Through the collective, Fish House Funk, John has produced a variety of parties including FEM_FISH, CAMP FISH, Wind Down Disco, and Good Vibrations.

Hailing from Hawaii and Taiwan, DJ/producer Timo Lee now calls Brooklyn home. Her DJ journey began with a radio show on KTUH FM Honolulu more than two decades ago, leading to performances with DJ Harvey, Bonobo, James Murphy, and more at thirtyninehotel. Now Timo plays in Brooklyn at many nightclubs and bars including Good Room and a regular on The Lot Radio. She also co-owns Bevy, a popular cocktail discotheque in Honolulu for the past decade. She is the curator behind Good Bar’s vinyl sessions and label boss of Chomp! Chomp! Records. Timo's DJ sets are a vibrant blend of genres, ensuring a rhythmic experience that keeps your fingers tapping and heads bobbing. She believes that music should evoke emotions from within, and Timo approaches it with an ethos that knows no limits.
