Since she'd left the bright lights of the city it had become clear how much of the cosmos was being hidden from her. Pollution seemed to block out the beauty of it all, a thick fog that clung to the air for dear life masking all that lay above it. Out here everything came into focus; the moon and the planets glowed with an intensity she couldn't begin to describe. The map of the cosmos was clear and defined, now she could find her way amongst the stars.

Taking inspiration from Detroit's historic deep house scene, Italian born producer Ràkale - who heads up the label of the same name - makes his debut on Massimiliano Pagliara’s Funnuvojere Records. Like much of the previous outings on the label, Ràkale's Irregular Step concerns itself with cosmic sounds, taking us on a trip through stirring. emotive melodies. Flaunting his deftness at creating crystallised synth lines and buoyant grooves, the EP draws on elements of electro, Italo, Chicago house and synth wave.

UK producer Louis De Tomaso pushes a vibrant retro sound that’s laced with euphoric intention and has received support from the likes of Krystal Klear, Jennifer Cardini, Kendal, Pablo Bozzi, Tiger and Woods, Perel and Cormac. He comes up trumps here with two new tracks for the well-reputed Exploited imprint.

Channeling classic Eurodance and Italo, ‘Malfunction’ is a riot of a track that’s brimming with strong melodies and motifs. Within seconds you’re assaulted by an array of potent lines weaving away under ticking hi-hats and roomy snare hits, swelling to a tremendous intensity before the undulating bassline rocks in. Big arpeggios, fizzing chords, soaring leads and dramatic riffs abound, with never a dull moment in this super-colourful track. All is woven together seamlessly, erupting like a volcano as the melodies transpose to higher octaves as the track progresses. Any one of these riffs would be strong enough to be the lead refrain on any given track. Louis De Tomaso’s generous spirit instead packs them all into a huge 5 minutes and 40 seconds.

‘Prince’, a track that lay unfinished for nearly 5 years, is more on the hi-NRG tip. Given a new lick of paint by De Tomaso, it’s driven by a camp, sugary lead riff that bursts through the mix like a buzzsaw. Chugging bass arpeggios provide more forward-thrust as the spacious beats hammer away and classic ravey synth sounds hammer out a delightful selection of colourful hooks. A huge build where pitch risers meet rapid-fire claps sends the track rocketing into the ether, exploding in a rainbow of colour. Fun levels are maxxed out on this one.

Louis De Tomaso - Prince | Exploited Club

London-based electronic duo LiiN, Neil Simons and Mal R have teamed up with Alan Dixon's Love Attack Records to create a EP of remixes taken from their new album ‘Fentanyl Flowers’. Ranging from introspective, kaleidoscopic and sometimes unnerving pieces to dance-floor ready tracks their music takes the listener through a variety of shimmering worlds.

On the remix EP Alan Dixon takes the lead with a remix of 'A Possible Maybe' which is followed by three 'Night Mixes' by the duo themselves.

After releasing on Paradiso Records and Midnight People, Remi Wanless drops his new EP on Love Attack. 'Local Suicide are back with the second of four remix EPs for their debut album, 'Eros Anikate', each named after an ancient Greek god.

The Greco-German DJ and Producer couple, known for their wild fusion of new wave, acid, slow techno, EBM, and dark disco, have been driving live audiences into a frenzy across the globe with captivating performances and live sets. Their propulsive grooves have earned them the title of key figures in the up- rising dark disco scene, as well as overwhelming support from the music press worldwide for their 13 EP releases to date. My Secret Agenda (@mysecretagenda) jumps into 2023 introducing a new artist. Matteo Miele (@user-661679779) is a vintage sounds and machines lover, and he comes with two tracks shaped on delicate atmospheres, evolving slowly and combined with minimal rhythms and psychedelic soundscapes.

Seagulls is an evocative tune that clearly draws a picture of the sea in our minds, made by natural sounds crafted with synthesizers. Big Beast is instead a slow, little acid breaks monster. Warm, hypnotic and sweetly moving around.

The label then elevates the release adding some remixers, both old guards and new talents. Frankie Vertigo revisits Big Beast turning it into a groovy and housey composition with a sweet and catchy melody, triggering a distinctive vintage and lo-fi atmosphere.

With his remix of Seagulls, Waxman makes the picture of the sea even more clear, building a magic deep progressive voyage, able to support the listener though smooth and emotive soundworlds.

Last but not least, Type-303 (@type-303) remodels Big Beast adding stunning uk rave vibes, backing up the original bassline with spatial chords e resonating noises and adding a funny classic touch to the original.

Matteo Miele - Big Beast(Type - 303 Remix) [My Secret Agenda]

AEON is kicking off 2023 with a well-known family member returning to the camp: Vhyce. His first songs on the label, released in 2021, sky-rocketed his career. After one EP and several tracks being released on our “Lost Tapes & Versus” compilation, he’s back with a stunning 4- tracker EP named Suspension of Disbelief.

Vhyce, known for his tracks to create subtle tension and tell stories with no words, has developed his sound a bit further with this EP; though without losing his remark. “The titles“, Vicente explains, “are respectively referring to the structural lateralization of the brain. The feeling of closure and the avoidance of logic in examining something impossible.”

Asymmetric Mind Shift is a song full of summer feel, which could be well needed in the rainy, snowy and cold days of winter. More housey than what we might be use to, but not less catchy this tune comes along, unfolding in a sparkling break with a classic M1 Piano- riff.

Epilogue is most probably the essence of how we would define Vhyce’ sound. Indie dance meets Roland Synths with a touch of progressive. This time, as a cherry on the cake, the main melody is played by an E-guitar.

Suspension of Disbelief and its beat-less version Out of Disbelief are mixing organic and synthetic sounds, trying to evoke suspense. A hymn-like chord theme, mystic vocals and pad- sounds guide this track to become a perfect one for a set ending the night while the sun comes up.
