Mixed on the Truckee River on Donnie Island 7-8-2013 during a renegade party.  This is the middle hour of a 3 hour set I had the pleasure of playing on an island on the Truckee River just North of Lake Tahoe!  we floated the equipment over to the island on rafts and had at it!

AfroQBen is back, with his debut album Liquid Gold Remixed Vol.1. The album was originally released back at the end of 2012.

Producers from around the globe bring their own flavors to the QBen sound, delivering fresh new beats. Qdup Foundation from Washington DC, who is about to release his debut single on Fort Knox Recordings, opens the album by giving a massive, big beat remix with tons of dub and ghetto funk for "Massive Move Forward". Up next, the mighty Empresarios from the same team are giving their rumba house remix over "Cafe" followed by a second version by Trotter. "House Fly" continues, with acid disco vibes from label master Timewarp inc, with an extra funky house attitude. I've been collecting the tracks in this mix for 10 years.  Some are new and others are over 10 years old.  I have been collecting music for so long I forget about the gems I have purchased so long ago.  This mix is a deep dive accessing a style I have always admired but never actually tried to make something happen with. I hope to continue in this direction as I Love how this style of house can be so deep and so powerful at the same time.  Hope you enjoy my work.  Love!

DjBlue42 - Got a Minute - Florida Breaks Mix 4-19-2000

As I upload this mix I am still at a loss for words.  On November 20, 2019 the greater Tahoe and Reno community lost one of our most treasured resources and our world will never be the same.  Zephyr touched the hearts of everyone that had the privilege of meeting him.  I process, purge and share my emotions through my music and dj sets.  You can say I wear my heart on my sleeve but instead the shirt is 2 cdj's and a mixer.  Creating this set in memory of Zephyr has been one of the most emotional experiences I have had with music in my life.  As I auditioned music I thought of spending time with him in our Camp at Burningman, watching in awe as he played his guitar while rocking out to Prince and watching him dance (better than some of my friends) to deep house when I would play live at Coffee Bar, Squaw and Guitarfish.  I thought of his parents Greg and Moni and what a devastating experience this has been for them as they take it all head on and somehow keep it together.  I thought of the Grandparents,the rest of their families as well as the amazing community coming together to support them and one another in these heartbreaking times.  I thought of all these things and cried, smiled and cried some more and it has left me emotionally drained and helped the healing process begin for me and I hope it can do the same for you.  I feel blessed to live in such a loving community and this community Love's You Zephyr.
