LackLuster is the creative outlet of Melbourne's Jimbo Spice. Exploring mediums such as music production, film, DJing and performance art, his eclectic approach to creativity has seen him perform all over the country. Drawing from a diverse range of influences such as Dub, Hip-Hop, Techno, Bass Music, Jazz, Ambient and more... LackLuster sets are often dynamic and evolving, with a focus on moods and themes over genre. 

In this edition of Low-Key Reservations, LackLuster dives deep into his treasure trove of twisted trip-hop. Inspired by and featuring tracks from Desmond Cheese’s “Space and Time” album, this mix aims to explore the bizarre, the quirky and the dystopian. Fractured glimpses of euphoria peek through a backdrop of gloomy atmospheres and glitched-out oddities in this eccentric tour through the garden of earthly delights.

Had such a fantastic time playing at @valhallafest this year that I decided to post my set. 120 minutes of fun, daytime vibes to get you in the dancing mood. 

A big thank you to all the performers that played at Lief's this year (@shanepatrickriley, @seraphyne, @indigogh, @isis-graham, @civillianwashere, @jaytripwire, @itsharleybtch, DJ Alvalanche, @ricky-biz, Abomb ; so much talent on such an incredible stage.

Mick Jeets' story began one winter morning when he found a guitar in his hands. What followed was a decade of fronting storied punk & emo bands in the Omaha, NE music scene, but his focus eventually turned to DJing during a residency on community radio. The weekly broadcast opened doors to play at house parties, college bars & and raves, where Mick continued to refine his genre-bending style of bass, techno & nostalgia-fueled party music.

After relocating to Denver, Mick began diving into electronic music production while circuiting the local club scene. Armed with an encyclopedic knowledge of modern music and trends, he found solace in crafting his own take on underground dance music. After a few early releases on @justin-jay's @fantastic-voyage-music, Chicago's @seasonalfrequency & Denver's @coalminesounds, he began to reintroduce himself to the scene - this time on his own terms.

The prospects are bright for Mick Jeets; following a string of EPs released on @strictlyflava, @morelia's and  @teethyrecords imprint, he continues to craft his quaint style through original productions, DJ mixes, internet radio & live shows. As the story of Mick Jeets unfolds, listeners are delighted and surprised by the personal, sonic impression left upon them up.

Born and raised in the PNW, Low Key Goddess fostered her love for music from a young age, frequenting live music events of all genres in the Seattle area. 

For Low Key Goddess, beginning to mix music was like regaining control of a phantom limb; as if she had finally found the missing piece to her puzzle of authentic self-expression. As the world withdrew into their homes in 2020, Low Key Goddess expanded her horizons through house and drum and bass, and dove deep into honing her distinctive mixing style. 

The sounds of Low Key Goddess are versital, deep, and melodic. Each of her live sets tell their own unique story, rich in driving bass lines, technical drum patterns, and haunting vocals. She is a resident for De La Creme, and has played with notable groups around Seattle including LOST, Noise Complaint, Proper Pro, and Nocturne Syndicate. She has served as local support for well known artists including Sacha Robotti, Christian Martin, Klippee, and Wardo. 

In an effort to give back to the music and arts communities that shaped her, Low Key Goddess partnered with Doc Astro to found Fujin Ravewerks, a Seattle-based production company specializing in creating shared radical audio visual experiences. Their goal is to strengthen community through art, music, and free expression with a focus on inclusive grassroots events.
