Le paramètre T, c'est ce flux qui a du sens, mais dès qu'on essaye de s'arrêter, de l'extirper de la phrase dans laquelle on l'a inséré , il devient problématique, il devient une énigme, il devient l'objet d'un affreux désir philosophique.
Et c'est là que les physiciens, me semble-t-il, peuvent intervenir parce que eux mettent le paramètre T dans leurs équations.
Toutes les équations fondamentales de la physique contiennent le paramètre T donc un des travaux que les physiciens doivent accomplir c'est d'essayer d'imaginer ce que diraient les équations de la physique si elles pouvaient parler.
Prenez, par exemple, les équations de Newton, imaginons qu'elles parlent et qu'on puisse leur demander :
"D'après vous qu'est ce que c'est que le temps ?". D'abord est ce qu'elles comprendraient la question ?
Est ce qu'elles pourraient parler du temps en lui même ou est ce qu'elles l'associeraient aussitôt à l'espace ou aux phénomènes qu'elles prétendent décrire ?
Est ce qu'on a le droit de parler du temps indépendamment de l'équation dans laquelle on l'a enchâssé ?
Voilà des questions qui ne sont pas tout à fait simples.
Si vous prenez, par exemple, les équations de Newton, le temps newtonien est un temps qui est homogène et qui ne change pas au cours du temps sa façon d'être le temps, donc alors que le langage commun, très souvent, identifie le temps et le changement, Newton vient nous dire, le temps est la seule chose dans l'Univers qui ne change pas.
