Sincopat welcome back one the most promising artists of 2015. Third Son already released on Sincopat the huge track Entrance Acid, included in the first Vomvo compilation mixed by Darlyn Vlys last year.

Born into a musical family and studying many different styles of composition from an early age, Joseph Thomas Price presents three stunning tracks to our label, also including a remix by the label head honcho AFFKT.

The talented English producer presents three burner tracks of futuristic and tasteful Tech-House. Rich textures are presented into an amazing and effective base. Three strong tracks which made really difficult for us to choose an A-side here, but let’s try to talk briefly about them. Get to the Chopper is a new vision of the Acid House where new flavours are added in perfect harmony. Ptolemy is offering a huge and solid groove, taking the usual Tech-House to another warm level. With Deo, Third Son plays a bit more with melodies, letting AFFKT to twist them and create an amazing reinterpretation of organic music that grows and grows till the ecstasy.

The original and VIP versions set the foundation at 92 bpm, while Cavedweller’s remix adds a dark sub‑bass layer that changes the mood without touching the tempo. Juliano Gomez and Oondza pick up the pace slightly, delivering groovy slow‑techno renditions. Alacrán del Amor and Fernn go even further, turning the track into slow‑techno bangers with their signature bouncy touches. vietzen closes the EP with a progressive house remix that builds tension and plays creatively with the original elements.

Watergate Affairs is a brand new offering featuring residents, regulars and affiliated artists that have developed close ties to the club through the years. Over the course of four tracks, Jimi Jules, Lee Jones, La Fleur and David Mayer & Sebastian Voigt perfectly display the sound of Watergate. 

Diving right in is Jimi Jules and he hasn't let lost a step, picking up where he left off with his stellar 'Bogotá EP' earlier this year by churning out a burner. "6%" is rooted in a heaving low end groove while hypnotic tones spiral around a modulating lead that never lands in the same place, ensuring a twisted dance floor venture. 

Following on the A side we see long time resident Lee Jones at the top of his game with 'Fraction Disco', edited by no other than Metro. Equal parts eerie and sublime, it navigates through a groovy playfulness with deliberate severity by contrasting bouncing percussion with haunting keys creating a tune that feels absolutely massive. 

Flipping sides, the one and only La Fleur kicks it off in her signature style on 'Waves', effortlessly blending modern design with a classic approach resulting in an unforgettable tune that flawlessly shines at any time and place. 

Wrapping up the EP is close friends to the club; David Mayer & Sebastian Voigt. 'Voyage One' sees the two plunge deep into the aural wilderness utilizing rich, organic percussives as lush sonic hooks rise and fall spawning a unique excursion into celestial spaces.

Exclusive Iain Howie 'Bully'

Straight out of Vancouver, and just as young as he looks, Iain Howie is on his way to becoming somewhat of a household name in the underground music scene. With early roots in instruments like the piano and the guitar, the Canadian DJ and producer’s aptitude for music easily shines through. His most recent release, an EP titled ‘Fleur’, was put out by Vancouver/Berlin based record label ‘Rhombus’, the same label that released his debut EP ‘Awake’. A label near and dear to his heart, Howie’s EP is their first ever vinyl release.

The track’s introduction is that of a not so timid rhythm. Employing a multitude of instruments and sounds, no doubt live if we know anything about Howie, one immediately feels a warmth and comfort that can be associated with the acoustic touch. Pleasantly rounded synth notes bubble into a raised crescendo, then break again, in sequence. Despite the track’s title, it’s tempo is rather forward-moving, not so stagnant and melancholy as one might suspect. If you haven’t been won over yet, your mind will surely be made up once the vocals have been introduced. Drudgingly drawn out over many bars, the lulling lyrics pull on the slightly hurried rhythm and balance is found. Perfect for reflection on a dreary day in Vancouver, Bully is, quite honestly, a break in the storm.

Iain Howie’s track ‘Bully’ from the EP ‘Fleur’ was released on released on vinyl on September 25th, and will be released digitally on October 23rd, 2017 on Rhombus.

EXCLUSIVE: Iain Howie - Bully [Rhombus]

Marco Resmann returns to Watergate after a productive stint at the Red Bull Music Studios in Cape Town with two stellar cuts featuring local heroes Deep Aztec and Black Soda. Tack on a remix from the one and only Oliver Huntemann and another revision from Resmann himself and you have the Babylon Side EP. 

Teaming up to kick things off, Resmann, Black Soda and Deep Aztec embrace the cultural sounds of Africa's organic percussion and vocal prowess to create a tour de force tune perfectly balance between flashing club lights and vast open skies. Following suit, Abadala sees Marco again with Deep Aztec for a lush ride into deep emotional spaces by applying mesmerizing syncopated rhythms and spellbinding vocals ideal for deeper or more sentimental dance floor moments. 

Up next is Techno legend Oliver Huntemann who, playing after Resmann earlier this year at the 15 years of Watergate event at Warung Beach Club in Brazil enjoyed his set and the two hit it off, so logically he was asked to lend his trademark sound for a revision of Babylon Side and he twists the original into a heavy Techno belter complete with sinister sonics and fever inducing sirens. Wrapping things up is Marco Resmann himself with his own take on Babylon Sides and delivers a wild and twisted version of gargantuan low end and psychedelic shimmers of the original vocal resulting in a killer tune with a ton of attitude.
