Lowbit Records are pleased to present the up-and-coming Russian producer Anton Stelsi with his track Control, backed by some very accomplished remixes, for their next release.

The original springs into action quickly as the hypnotic tribal drum groove is joined by meandering arpeggiators and mysterious vocals. Further layers of synths are added which captivate and tantalize, casting their light across the St. Petersberg skyline. They continue to evolve in the break and then the beauty of the vocals is exposed which creates a hands-raised, eyes closed moment of sonic bliss before snare rolls mark to re-emergence of the other elements, which do not disappoint.

Lowbit favorite Chaum steps up with the first remix. Techy loops and upfront drums set the deep and brooding tone with the bassline and synths adding energy and vibrance. Ethereal stabs and snares build the energy as layers of sound are combined effortlessly to create a deeper, darker, but highly engaging foil to the original.

Label bossman Sonic Union steps up next. His remix sparks into life immediately, focusing on the floaty arpeggiators and a stripped-back drum groove. The vocals are used skillfully to build the energy and the spacey, funk-tinged progressive bassline drives the track forward with style and swagger. The showstopping lead line is unleashed expertly in the break to project us all into the next dimension.

An excellent original and set of remixes, that will work on a range of dance floors across the globe.

LBR262 Anton Stelsi - Control EP

Next up on Lowbit is a true international collaboration between rising German production star ANMA and Iranian duo High On Mars with their Ometeotl EP.

On the opening track "Ometeotl"; ANMA and High On Mars unleashes a dark, rolling, infectious groove across the Berlin cityscape, with sinister stabs and synth motifs building the tension. Moody and engaging vocals wrap gloriously around shimmering pads and combine with expertly programmed key changes to light up the aural spectrum, before the reconditeness returns with unrelenting anti-melodies locking us into the final score.

The second track "Unlighted" fuses playful arpeggiated hooks with a plethora of foreboding clatters and tones, before the voice of an angel casts a stunning light over the minimal techno twilight. Snares erupt amongst metallic and urgent crashes as the heavens open and a cacophony of drums and textures drive us forward with equanimity.

An excellent EP which showcases futuristic sound design and unique track arrangements, alongside some show-stopping vocals and melodies. This is not be missed!

LBR263 ANMA, High On Mars - Ometeotl EP

For the next Lowbit release rising Israeli melodic techno star Adam Sellouk and YLM join forces for 'Midnight', with Adam also contributing a solo track 'Outbreak' and fellow in-demand Israeli Matan Tamal providing a remix of 'Midnight'.

Midnight races out of the blocks with edgy bass parts and ethnic percussion combining expertly with moody synths and driving hats. The scene has been set and then the mysterious vocal crashes into the aural spectrum. Strings add organic depth before perfectly executed key changes, snares and anti-melodies create an unforgettable crescendo.

Outbreak rolls and writhes from the outset, driving forward with effortless swagger. Deep and ethereal tones build the tension with new layers being added seamlessly. The growling bass line builds and builds and becomes the centre point of the track, with vocal snippets leading into the break. Drum rolls continue to boost momentum and we reach a poignant juncture, where strings and dark, metallic synths come together for a hands in the air moment before the elements come crashing back in.

Matan Tamal steps up next with his remix of Midnight. He drops the pace and takes the track much deeper, creating an irresistible, rolling, hypnotic progressive journey. The vocal is teased in with spine-tingling strings and swirling melodies, before the parts fuse together to create an irresistible moment.

An upfront and versatile EP that will delight both progressive and melodic techno dance floors.

Argentina's Mayro returns to Lowbit with a fresh new EP, "Soul Escape" following up on his top selling release, "Four In One" from last year.

Title track, "Soul Escape" is a sonically rich track with a heavy focus on creative sound design but keeping with his personal and energetic style, underpinned by a heavy bassline and groovy rhythms.

"The Ocean Song" pushes the energy forward with its driving drum programming, snappy bassline and gnarly stabs. Big lush pads fills the space, creating an emotional journey while still keeping it focused on the dancefloor.

Lowbit is excited to welcome another fresh new artist to the roster, Atóm, and his stunning EP "Chimera"; The EP starts with the eponymous "Chimera" just like the mythological beast it is named after, it has several sides to it. Starting deep and building up to a fiery crescendo, only to turn into a lush and vibrant breakdown and back into a epic peak-time dance floor track.

The second track "Sphinx" has a darker vibe, keeping it a bit more stripped back focusing on individual elements, pushing melodies back and forth in the soundscape. With clever sound design and modulation, the track pushes things forward underpinned by a minimal but groovy drums.

Hijacks return to Lowbit after enjoying previous success on the label, with a new two-track EP.

The opening track, "Panorama" bursts into action with rippling arpeggiators and a muscular stabbing bass orchestrating affairs. Glistening melodies wash over the Thessaloniki skyline throughout the break before the elements fuse back together with style and in glorious fashion, as the soundscape explodes.

The second track, "Systematic" delivers hypnotic tension as synths and drums flex and posture, painting a picture of mystery and intrigue. Acid-tinged melodies writhe and bubble with intensity and drama to create some memorable moments.

Two energetic tracks are on display here, that demonstrates a very high level of production prowess and that should not be missed.

As on 'Exception to the rule' Forniva has teamed up with Alex Nemec again and delivers a more tech inspired vibe in 'Interference'. Slightly more upbeat then 'Andalusia', this track is shock full of energy, groovy and "umpf"!

We wrap up a fantastic year musically for Lowbit with a bang! Nosh & SJ have quickly made a mark on the scene with their releases and their latest EP 'The Lost Man' is our final original release of 2018. The eponymous 'The Lost Man' is a progressive powerhouse with its tight drums, bouncy bassline and spacey pads. 'Reflection' touches on a slightly darker vein with its moody melodies and heavy string work.

Enlisting some of progressive house's finest producers on this EP we start with Paul Angelo & Don Argento who delivers the remix for 'The Lost Man' with their deeper Argentinian progressive vibe that got that really hypnotic vibe. Last but not least, Kamilo Sanclemente & Mauro Aguirre team up to deliver the remix for 'Reflection' turning it into an epic 9 minute progressive journey. What a way to end 2018!

Sonabit 'Photosynthesis' EP from March last year was a huge surprise success with the main track 'Sleeping Over Keyboards' staying in the Beatport top 100 tracks chart for almost 8 weeks. To kick off 2019 we, therefore, got some very talented artists on board to remix the EP. 

First up is Emi Galvan, who had a fantastic 2018 with some massive releases and support from the big progressive DJs, taking on 'Sleeping over Keyboards' turning it into a driving progressive house floor filler. New to Lowbit, FOTN delivers the second remix of 'Sleeping over Keyboards' going deeper focusing heavily on big melodies and atmosphere.

Another new name to Lowbit is In-DikA, a relatively new French producer who tackles 'Winter Disorder' creating a warm and laidback vibe focused around the main guitar melody. Wrapping things up is Bay Of Fires who turns 'Winter Disorder' into a smooth progressive house track.

The eponymous 'Off World' is a deep and hypnotic track with heavy influences from Blade Runner with its stylish and moody melodic pads. The second track in the EP, 'Sound of Mind' has a much lighter vibe with its bouncier bassline, lush pads, and forward driving percussion.

We turn to Russia, and Warpp club resident, Bondarev, for our next outing. The title track "The Warpp", named after the club, is a deep and hypnotic affair with subtle synth layers, acidesque squelches, and moody pads.

Following on is "Manshivaan", a more direct track which brings the energy up with its chunky drums and heavy sub-bass.

Fellow Warpp residents Ewan Rill and K Loveski takes on remix duties for "The Warpp" and turns the original deep track into a progressive peak-time bomb!

Wrapping things up is Argentina's Mayro, who returns to Lowbit after his successful original EP released earlier this year and molds "Manshivaan" into a big and chunky floor filler.

Serbian producer Veljko Jovic is up next with his first appearance on Lowbit with his two-track release 'Drone' EP. The eponymous 'Drone' is a proper chunky number with its heavy drums, subby bassline, and moody leads and stabs.

Following on is 'Delivery', taking things even darker and delivering a real underground peak-time track, focused on clean and hypnotic melodies and stabs with a driving bassline, and upbeat drums.

With Yolumuz, his second release on Lowbit Records, Tali Muss tastefully combines world instruments and ambitious sound design to create a unique musical mosaic.

On the title track, the musician stays faithful to his Azerbaijani roots, sitting at the crossroads of Western and Eastern influences. The DJ and producer, which has previously held the #1 spot on Beatport’s progressive house hype chart with his 2018 tune “Irreversible”, incorporates oriental drums to the track, which are complimented by the high-flown lead synth. This feeling of union amongst different origins is also accentuated by the interactions between the thick, omnipresent bassline and the joyful organic sounding flute.

On “Yalla” the artist, which has seen his work recognized by heavyweights such as Stan Kolev and Gareth Emery, crafts a hypnotizing melody which rides unto a rollercoaster of tension and release. The song is scattered with ascents and descents of different natures, most notably the long rise which sees the piece stripped and built back-up in a striking crescendo.

As for the remixes, Sonic Union and Hannes Wiehager team up to deliver their first common outing on Lowbit. The remix is a straightforward track with a constant high level of energy complemented by a weaving vocal sample and an evolving lead synth.

Finally, Highjacks, wrap up the release with a remix in tone with its musical identity. Coming off their successful “Venus” EP on Lowbit earlier this year, they construct aerial chords which caress the ears as the ravey bass supports the whole arrangement, proving once more that unlikely associations are a key to generate interesting emotions.

For his Lowbit debut, Carsten Halm crafts three inventive tracks, leaving the ear always on the lookout for interesting sounds and combinations.

The EP starts off strong with “Dream”. The DJ and producer, which has frequently seen his work supported by heavyweights such as ARTBAT, Solomun and Eelke Kleijn, uses spoken word vocals and distant voices to hypnotize the listener. This feat achieved, the arrangement is grounded by effective percussions and layers of repeating melodies clearing the wordy mist.

On “Paris”, the uplifting lead synth, central piece of the musical puzzle, steals the show. The Cologne based artist elegantly uses the drive it injects to the song to frequently change the rhythms supporting it as well as casting two grand buildups.

For the closer, “Rave”, the musician, which has in 2020 released on successful labels such as Parquet and Traum, goes all out with an energetic cut perfect for peak time dancefloors. The composition is also sprinkled by touches of unprocessed piano giving a distinctive feel to the tune.
