Deep from the heart of one of America's richest dance music communities rises a bright young talent going by the name of Hugh Michael Carter. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, but growing up in a native Caribbean household, Hugh spent his childhood listening to heavily groove-influenced music, such as reggae, dancehall, and soca music, which is readily apparent in his live DJ sets and productions alike. Hugh's impressive track record of over 7 years expertly dominating dance floors as a DJ, and almost 3 years producing his own music, attests to his sheer prowess as an entertainer and proves he is no amateur in his field. Throughout the years, he has established himself within the Los Angeles nightlife, by performing at prestigious clubs such as Avalon Hollywood and The Roxy, and bringing his passion for groovy house music with him to the stage. Some of Hugh's greatest musical influences range from house music heavyweights such as Axwell, Kryder, Dirty South, Robbie Rivera, to other genre-defying artists such as Kanye West and Miike Snow. The new year marks a new beginning for Hugh Michael Carter, and the world of dance music shall forever be changed for the better. It’s time for the groove to take over.
