All sounds are generated on the Ploytec πλ² PL02.56 firmware (including "synth beatbox" percussion), except for BD/SN/HH using πλ² FW2.0. No effects, except for EQ, compression and a very very tiny bit of reverb.

A tune I wrote while testing various synthesizers in my studio while watching a Star Trek marathon devoted to Spock.

While playing around with my modular synthesizer and a couple of other synths in the studio I created this creepy sequence.  It made me think of an old episode of The Twilight Zone called "To Serve Man".  I added some clips from the episode (used without permission) and added a drum track as an afterthought.  I thought I'd share it.

Modules to create the patch included Synthesizers.com Q106 Oscillators, PAiA 9720 Oscillators, Catgirl CGS01 Sub Oscillators, a Q960 Sequencer, Oakley Discrete Ladder Filters, Barton Switched Resistor Filters, Oakley, Dotcom and PAiA VCFs and a pile of support modules.

Lazy Sunday

An experiment utilizing a Cat Girl Synth CGS01 driven by an Oakley Dual LFO processed through a CGS22 Master Divider.  The output then goes through a Q172 Quantizer aid and a drives a pair of Synthesizers.com Q106 oscillators.  One oscillator passes through a Q107 State Variable Filter while the second passes through an Oakley Discrete Ladder Filter.  Pulse and ramp waves are also taken from these oscillators and run into a second CGS01 where the sub-oscillator output is run into a DJ Thomas White low pass gate.  The outputs of all filters are then mixed through an Oakley Multimix.  Meanwhile a Q960 sequencer's 24 stage output is also quantized by a Q171 then run into the 1V/Oct inputs of the oscillators.  The Q960 also gates the Oakley Classic VCA which provides the mixed output.  Meanwhile gates from the Q960 trigger a BMC018 Analog Drum which is run into a Q115 Reverb then into a second Classic VCA.  There is also a Pigtronix echo, EHX Electric Mistress and Nano Holy Grail Reverb in the effects loop of the mixer processing the output of the oscillators.  There's a bit more going on too but this is a decent description of the main patch.

It's a mood piece that probably goes well with a glass of wine and a candle while having a nice warm tub.  Don't fall asleep though as you could drown : (

Synth track utilizing SWAN modular, Moog Sub 37, EMU ESI-2000 and a Korg Volca Beats.  Spun out of a patch used to test a new MFOS Sequencer.  Done in a single take.

Minor EQ, compression and panning added for mixdown.
