One of the standout tracks in PBDY's recent Upfront (and, to be fair, there were plenty to choose from) was "Gangs," a fleet-footed cut from DJ Orange Julius and Activia Benz affiliate DJ Mastercard. Much like the namesake drink we only needed a little taste to get hooked, and it's an even better feeling to let this one out in full. With cinematic flourishes, depth-charge drops and even a touch of pretty glitch at the very, this one is very Kuedo – and very good.

Jim Coles continues to redefine high-velocity dance music at every turn. Following his recent set for Metalheadz - in which he utilised a legendary sample pack from the very infancy of the label, telescoping together two decades of drum'n'bass - comes his first solo release for his own Cosmic Bridge Records. It's spacious, sinister, psychedelic - and, on this deep and dangerous roller of a track, full of percussion that sounds like it's played by a multi-limbed artificial intelligence.

OK, so the English weather is up to its old tricks again. Following on from last week’s blazing sun streak, we’ve been dumped straight into the mire again despite it being mid-July. That hasn’t deterred Grade 10, a newish collective and upstart, from baking the sun into their latest vinyl-only release though. Comprised of blissful, Balearic numbers, “Nobody/Slides’ is perfect for the summer hazy afternoons that we should be relishing in.

Old-school purist LooseWomen takes care of the two originals; each of which are soaked in feel-good vibrations and glued tight with a sturdy percussive underbelly. Yet its the mutated version of “Nobody” from Classic Coke track that causes the biggest ruckus; this is high-octane, industrious footwork with a hefty bassweight anchor and it’s available from August 10th on wax.

It's been a happy spectacle watching our friends at Lobster Theremin grow into the pink-bellied beast we see before us today. Their following has grown almost as quickly as their roster, snowballing via a release schedule that's as strong as it is frequent: a consistently welcome serve-up of Motor City-inspired house, dreamscape acid and narcotic techno. 

Late last year, Camp Lobster drilled deeper into the spectrum with Mörk, the label's darkling sub-imprint and home to its gloomiest techno. This week they inaugurate a new imprint, Distant Hawaii – a summer off-shoot for beach-coasting sunshine house. And its first release is exactly that: a wonderfully deep debut for Manchester man Hidden Spheres. 'Waiting' is our pick of the litter: a glowing thumper that's all butter-melt Rhodes lines, ecstatic vocal whoops, and tons of playful percussion. The perfect summer jam, basically – coming to a terrace near you very soon.

You may be familiar with Sivey from his collaborative record with Evil Needle, 'Constructive Interference', released on Soulection in summer of 2014 or you may have caught one of his uptempo, dreamy DJ sets in and around London.

The Manchester-based producer who seamlessly combines a number of varied aesthetics with his unique, moody synth progressions comes correct with the 17th installation in our White Label Series.

In a cohesive 4-part story, Sivey takes us through slow jams, house and future sounds with broken rhythm grooves reminiscent of jazz fusion.

"I chose these tracks because I felt they represent a good mixture of my influences and styles I like to experiment with” Sivey told us.

Sivey creates his moody sounds using FL Studio and enjoys the challenge of pushing the boundaries of how midi can be used to create live sounding music.

Is it just us or does Sage Armstrong sound like he could have been an astronaut? Well, regardless of our vivid imagination - we're apparently able to arbitrarily concoct an elaborate back story for an artist back story purely based upon their name - we're certainly very glad that this Mr. Armstrong (no relation to Neil) decided against a career at NASA, instead opting to make delectable beats sure to get you thawing out those boogying muscles.

Having first popped up on our radar last summer with his label debut ‘What’s Yo Tempetcha?’ on the Dirtybird BBQ collection, the man from Orlando has continued to impress since, cropping up with a number of show stealing performances for Claude Vonstroke's inimitable imprint, which tellingly keeps bringing him back for more.

For his latest trick, Armstrong serves up two new cuts for, you guessed it, Dirtybird, offering up a pair of sleazy, funk enthused rump shakers sure to be soundtracking a party near you upon release. Teaming up with DT favourite Bot for the EP's opener, She's Smoking', it's the records title track, ‘Quest To The West’ that really grabbed us by the throat here at DT and as such was our pick for premiere.

Written just days after he relocated from Florida to LA, you can check out 'Quest To The West' in all it's sunbaked glory now.

Having given us one of the most successful album releases in the Wah Wah catalogue with their eponymous debut over 18 months ago now, Bristol siblings in jazz the Colman Brothers have finally succumbed to the remix project we’ve all been waiting for, and what a project it is!

The brothers’ sophisticated style and penchant for 60s latin influenced jazz by the likes of Horace Silver and Francy Bolland has been brought right up-to-date by some of the most heavyweight producers around, and a few new names to watch. 

Up and coming beat-maker from Caracas, Venezula, Jimmy Flamante kicks things off in a low slung style akin to producer of the moment Tall Black Guy, who also features with his typically laid back re-working of one of the original album’s highlights. Elsewhere, latin specialist Sunlightsquare drops a 4/4 version of “Some Other Wonder” that’s aimed strictly at the dance floor, as does the mysterious Bman, and newcomers Skinshape impress with a dubbed out take of  the very cheeky “Momo”.

Look out for Herma Puma’s re-imagination of “The Chief”, taking it directly back to its B-Movie roots, as well as the popular interpretation by our very own Part-Time Heroes. And don’t forget label mate/boss Scrimshire who also weighs in with a sultry remix of “She Who Dares” and beat heads Frameworks, whose version of “El Nino” will keep lovers of both hip hop and jazz happy in equal measure.

Add to that sublime mixes from UK legends Easy Access Orchestra and The Herbaliser, NYC’s Greenwood Rhythm Coalition, Hamburg’s Renegades Of Jazz and of course, Bristol’s very own Colman Brothers themselves, and you’ve got an international selection of the highest order!
